Surviving Milestone on the UC, Exeter to Chudleigh via Haldon road, in parish of SHILLINGFORD ST GEORGE (TEIGNBRIDGE District). Located on decent into Shillingford Abbot from Alphington, 150m N of village sign, positioned in hedge bank on steep on grass verge on East side of road. Made of stone in a design referred to as Exeter Tombstone. Erected by Exeter Turnpike Trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads; : 2 / MILES / FROM / EXETER / : : : . erased benchmark on base; . not Listed. In spite of night temperatures of -16 C, (close to zero F ), and continued freezing during the day, these crocus seem to be hanging on near the house foundation.

A surviving Churchyard Cross; Wraxall Churchyard Cross (old shaft, base & steps in a new cross) . Standing by the in the churchyard , in parish of WRAXALL AND FAILAND (NORTH SOMERSET District). Located S of the South porch of the parish church, positioned shaft and base of fifteenth century cross (is this part of the Tree cross from the crossroads?). NGR is ST 49020 71938; not Listed. . I finished my first half-marathon, the Brussels 20km. The course was pretty grueling (wikipedia agrees!), but it was also stunningly beautiful. I saw parts of Brussels I hadn't before and don't think I would have otherwise and now I can't wait to run it again next year to try to bring my time down...
