Dolby demonstrated publicly for the first time its recently announced Dolby PRM-4200 Professional Reference Monitor. The world's first LCD-based video reference display that accurately reveals true and deep black levels with higher contrast across the entire color spectrum provides an unprecedented luminance range and level.
Scheduled for availability later this year, the 42-inch monitor was specifically designed for professionals who rely on the most accurate measurement tools for color-critical work. It uses a backlight comprised of red, green, and blue LEDs that are modulated individually on a frame-by-frame basis. The LCD panel is also modulated in real time as part of the dual-modulation process.
Many of the new Motorola set-top boxes will feature Dolby Volume including the DCX700 and DCX3300 boxes.
On display with Dolby Volume included a Toshiba Regza, Motorola set-top box, GefenTV Auto Volume Stabilizer and Harman AVR-3600. The home theater set-up was complete with an Oppo Blu-ray player and PSB 5.1 surround sound system.

The banana jacks inserts came from single monoprice jacks. Then I used an extra wall plate meant for keystone inserts to couple the 2 banana speaker jacks together.

The volume knob on our Yamaha YHT-196 doesn't get used by anyone, other than my daughter during her periods of mischief and/or discovery!
It has a beautiful finish though which has a metal like reflective quality.
I used a flash for this photo and bounced it of a white surface. It's a black finish all over, so it was hard to highlight detail without reflecting colour from the surrounding area.

I want this new DVD recorder to play in 5.1 surround sound through these somewhat older surround sound speakers. Something tells me I can't - this has a *digital* audio out, but the old sub seems to have an *analogue* in. Am I right?
