Bathed in morning splashes of sunlight, a deteriorating barn reveals it has given up the fight. We face many battles in life, some fought successfully, others not. But in the end, we all surrender to the Inevitable.

This photo is part of a collab with Chris Rivera who is an absolute genius!

Ive always loved flight and the way some eagles can glide for hours riding the air currents, completely surrendering themselves to whichever way the wind blows.

I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Ghostly Remains Of The Atlantic Wall

Another shot of clothes on the line to dry in my country ...

This is a shot I made a while ago in Fort Duamont, Verdun. A lot of lives were taken during the fight for this fort during The First World War. A place with a lot of history... I hope this photo does right to the place and all it's history.

Totò my new kitten! smack!

He fought with all his might holding off his enemies, putting his all into saving his life. However, the darkness amassed around him and grabbed his limbs, trying to possess him. As a last ditch effort, he raised his wand and let off a surrender charm: he succumbed to the dark that entangled him.

This is a sequel image to one of my favorite images I've created: The Testing. Harry Potter is always such an amazing inspiration for magical photos. As well as a sequel, this is a collaboration with my good friend Cameron Bushong, who is awfully talented as he is awesome, so go check out his stream!

Wake up my little Schwülspinne,

Open up your eye.

The Mercs want to surrender,

But, I'd rather watch them die.

Happy MaKtoberfest 2015!!

Allow me to present one of the SDR's frontline combat recon units, the 'Schwülspinne' STG Ausf. B. The 'Schwülspinne' is a slightly smaller and more agile variant of the venerable Neuspinne. These autonomous drones are easy to identify by their often garish livery or "War Paint", as the unit's maintenance crew likes to call it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I love this time of year! This is by far my favorite theme, and I love seeing all of the craziness you guys come up with!!

Ma.Ktoberfest FTW!!

T. E. Lawrence

“perhaps the best preserved and most wholly admirable castle in the world.”

"Certainement le château au monde le mieux préservé et le mieux conservé dans son entité" Laurence d'Arabie

Le Krak des Chevaliers, ou Krak de l'Hospital — krak dérive du syriaque karak signifiant forteresse ,

Qal`at al-Hosn (La forteresse imprenable) ou

Krak des Chevaliers - Crusader castle - one of the most important preserved medieval castles in the world. The site was first inhabited in the 11th century by a settlement of Kurds; as a result it was known as Hisn al Akrad, meaning the Castle of the Kurds;. In 1142 given by Raymond II, Count of Tripoli, to the Knights Hospitaller.

Due to an earthquake in 1157, followed by another one in 1170, the castle was restored and enlarged,

It remained in their possession until it fell in 1271.

after a siege lasting 36 days, supposedly by way of a forged letter purportedly from the Hospitallers' Grand Master that caused the Knights to surrender.

It became known as Crac de l'Ospital; the name Krak des Chevaliers was coined in the 19th century.

Standing at 27 feet tall, the Knife Angel statue is certainly imposing. It is made from 100,000 knives confiscated by 43 UK police forces, and serves as a reminder about the rising problems of knife crime. Each knife also carries a message from the loved ones of knife crime victims.

When we deliberately leave the safety of the shore of our lives, we surrender to a mystery beyond our intent.

Les Brumes

Lately I've been feeling so ashamed

By these thoughts I'm hiding in my brain

'Cause I've been holding them down but they twist me violently

I'm hanging by a thread tonight but this time I don't wanna be saved (Saved)

So let me fall, let me break

Under everything unsaid

Just let me die 'cause I can't take

Living with what's in my head

If I surrender, surrender

To the monsters in me

If I surrender, surrender

To the monsters in me

Will it set me free?

What's the point of holding on like this?

When no one seems to care if I exist

There is no agony like being strong when no one knows you're sick

So sick of hearing I should stay when I know I would never be missed

So let me fall, let me break

Under everything unsaid

Just let me die 'cause I can't take

Living with what's in my head

If I surrender, surrender

To the monsters in me

If I surrender, surrender

To the monsters in me

If you could see under my skin

You'd realize why I hold it in

Why it's a fight I don't wanna win

Why it's a fight I don't wanna win

If you could see all my abuse

And spend a day inside my shoes

You'd realize why I just wanna lose

You'd realize why I just wanna lose

Will anyone believe the hell of being me

Before I decide to be the dying proof?

So let me fall, let me break

Under everything unsaid

Just let me die 'cause I can't take

Living with what's in my head

If I surrender, surrender

To the monsters in me

If I surrender, surrender

To the monsters in me

Will it set me free?

Surrender yourself. Let go of control, and allow the Universe to take the natural course. Open a new world of possibilities...

By the tranquil river's edge,

where soft winds blow,

A whispered tale of peace begins to weave.

The sun sets low,

casting a golden glow,

As nature bids the weary soul to leave.

In the meadow lush with flowers bright,

A gentle breeze caresses each bloom.

The sky in hues of pink and purple light,

Nature's lullaby dispels all gloom.

Beneath the ancient oak,

shadows play,

Leaves rustle secrets to the evening air.

Silent surrender marks the end of day,

A promise kept when life is laid bare.

Stars emerge as night takes her reign,

Guiding souls to rest in calm embrace.

In dreams they find no sorrow or pain,

Peaceful surrender in night's quiet place.

Logic of war

On May 14, 1940, the German attackers gave the Dutch defenders an ultimatum to surrender or else Rotterdam would be bombed.

However, the defenders let this ultimatum pass, perhaps because they hoped that French and British troops could change the course of the war.

In the end they accepted the occupiers' conditions; but at this point the German bombers were already in the air and because absolute radio silence was ordered during an attack in order not to provide the enemy with unnecessary information, they could no longer be ordered back by radio.

The Germans tried to inform the pilots of the changed situation using flares. The aircraft of the 2nd squadron responded to the signals, but 57 bombers of the first squadron continued to fly undeterred to Rotterdam and dropped their cargo over the target area as ordered.

814 people died.

A re-edit.

There are times in life when you feel like surrendering to the juggernaut that you feel is descending on you ....

.

This was actually quite an impromptu shot to take. I had just finished taking some light-trail photographs on a country road near Loch Tarsan and had headed to Jubilee Point on Loch Eck to see if it was suitable for another photoshoot I planned to take later that weekend ("Death Of Childhood Dreams"). It was ... but before heading home the idea for this shot popped into my head :)
