We have lots of snow - it's cold & windy, so I decided to dream of driving down to the beach to catch a wave : )

For me at least, sunset colors/mood and surfing action/lifestyle make for an awesome photo combination.

The question is, how can I bring SL Adrienne to life? I've been exploring how to use an AI program to craft life-like scenes for Adrienne that I couldn't achieve with SL alone. It’s still work in progress. I hope you come along with me and enjoy my learning journey.

We typically have fun waves in the 2-3 foot range, but last weekend the National Weather Service issued a High Surf Advisory for waves 3 times that size. This brought out the A-Team of surfers to try to ride them.
Big waves = big wipeouts and I saw guys getting really hammered in those waves, but fortunately no one was injured while I was shooting.
I don't really have much to say for this pic other than, I like it.

This Marbled Godwit was looking for food in the sand as the surf came and went. At this point the surf is rushing by its feet as the wave comes in and in another moment the sand will be exposed as the water rushes back out. I think this makes it easier to spot food in the shifting sands.

And yes there were plenty surfing the waves. The temperature was a balmy -4 degrees C.

Almost all kiwis reacted with sadness and lots of love and support for the victims of the extreme act of cowardice shooting people in their place of worship. But we won't be terrorised. It is still one of the safest places on earth and thank you all for so many words of support yesterday. Taken while sitting in a coffee shop by a warm salt water pool in our city, with a long large flat white.
This is from a couple of weeks ago. Because it is winter here in Australia we get the winter surf conditions. Most of the good surf comes in winter. This series was taken at my local beach . We generally don't get big surf here but when the winter swell comes in the waves are still ok in size to attract surfers.
