I'm sure anyone who's ever been to Scotland has seen a picture of this mountain - it's in practically every tourist shop on postcards etc. Unfortunately I didn't have the time or the weather to really wait for the light so this is the best I could do.

Happy Birthday my dearest Ma, hope you dancing with the Angels today, love you and miss you forever and a day ♥♥

Would you know my name if I saw you in heaven?

Would it be the same if I saw you in heaven?

I must be strong and carry on

‘Cause I know I don't belong

Here in heaven

Would you hold my hand if I saw you in heaven?

Would you help me stand if I saw you in heaven?

I'll find my way through night and day

‘Cause I know I just can't stay

Here in heaven

Time can bring you down, time can bend your knees

Time can break your heart, have you begging please

Begging please

Beyond the door, there's peace, I'm sure

And I know there'll be no more

Tears in heaven

If you be the cash

I'll be the rubber band

You be the match

I will be a fuse, boom

Painter, baby, you could be the muse

I'm the reporter, baby, you could be the news

'Cause you're the cigarette and I'm the smoker

We raise a bet 'cause you're the joker

Checked off, you are the chalk

And I can be the blackboard

You can be the talk

And I can be the walk

TUNES!!!

I don't know what this Red-necked Grebe is transporting, it almost looks like a dirty net of some kind, but it ends up part of the grebe's nest. Makes sense!

Thought I'd give the ole 2X tele a try with the 600 and the new R5. I was curious to see how that combination works together and I think it looks great! What do you think?

Taken 14 June 2021 in Anchorage, Alaska.

Here's one from a few months ago on Inis Mor Island. I didn't get a chance to post it but I think it's too nice to hide away in the archives. I'm not sure what breed these are but certainly not the connemara you usually associate with the island. It started raining so I didn't hang around as I was on a bike and needed to get back before it became heavy.

Be sure to zoom in on this photo. I took this picture of the pond behind our house. The actual frame included the opposite shore and the water is reflecting the forest that rises above it. I noticed an unusual quality in the texture of the water and zoomed in to produce this photo. I hope you enjoy the final effect.

for sure it is good to focus on what you want ... but it can be very helpful to take a playful look on the world from a different perspective. 😉

Not sure how this suddenly got an explore, but thank you. Before anyone feels the need to point it out it's a composite of two images.

I'm sure many would be sitting on a bench here and think along with 'The Thinker'

For me it's a paradise with all that nature all around...

well decorated and thought over, by Una & Bo.

An amazing sim to explore ..... and be sure.....

every time you go back... you discover new hidden corners.

Some History:

Rodin's The Thinker was originally part of The Gates of Hell which was completed on commission in 1882. What became known as The Thinker was originally intended to represent the poet Dante as he contemplated writing The Divine Comedy, on which The Gates of Hell was based.

Blue-gray gnatcatchers are, without a doubt, one of the most special and entertaining birds the US has to offer. With a pretty sky-blue back contrasting with a paler shade of blue, along with white and black, they boast what I think is one of the more underrated color combinations when it comes to Neotropical migrants, and I’m sure they know it because they sure like to flip those tails around (kidding, that’s a foraging technique). That isn’t the only thing about them that’s underrated; males are pretty great songsters too, emitting an intricate series of what is both their own little babbles and little phrases of other species songs. I even found yesterday that they are able to mimic new vocalizations on the spot. Unfortunately, these guys have the luck of returning earlier than the warblers, and they only get two weeks of fame before what many people consider the real show falls upon our forests. That’s okay, though- they get right to pairing up and nest-building and have fledged young by the end of June, so I think they couldn’t care less about how much attention we pay to them.

After 5 weeks, I am back at the park with my beloved squirrels. I'm not sure who this is. It might be P. Diddy :D (Squirrels-2021-6180.jpg)

There sure are some nice little flowerbeds in my brother-in-law's manufactured home complex, this one caught my eye as I wandered around after dinner.

Mallard. Sure tough getting studio lights out on the ice! :) Best Viewed Large On Black Mallards form pairs only until the female lays eggs, at which time she is left by the male. The clutch is 8–13 eggs, which are incubated for 27–28 days to hatching with 50–60 days to fledgling. The ducklings are precocial, and can swim and feed themselves on insects as soon as they hatch, although they stay near the female for protection. IMG_1241

Nuthatches Shall usually dominate the field whenever present at feeding stations. Maybe not a coconut, but every other nut can be cracked with this beak. Awesome bird!

Not sure if this mushroom is holding on to the twig, afraid of faling down or that it is hungry and trying to eat .......

For some reason it reminds me also of 'Cookie Monster' ;-D

One can find beautiful 'art' outdoor!

Sure on this shining night

Of star made shadows round,

Kindness must watch for me

This side the ground.

The late year lies down the north.

All is healed, all is health.

High summer holds the earth.

Hearts all whole.

Sure on this shining night

I weep for wonder wand'ring far alone

Of shadows on the stars.

Another shot from Joshua Tree taken last June when there were only four of us shooting in silence in the White Tank Campground. As I was thinking back on that night, the above text from James Agee came to mind. What an incredible night.

Not sure what type of bee this is or the plant it was on, but I did smile when I saw it's little leg as if rubbing it's aching back with all the work! Have a great weekend you lovely folks out there! HSoS

"Sure God's all powerful, but does he have lips? Whoa..."

Dear God, how have you been then?

I'm not fine, fuck pretending

All of this death your sending

Best throw some free heart mending

Invite you in my heart, then

When done, my sins forgiven?

This God of mine relaxes

World dies I still pay taxes

Can I be as my God am

Can you be as God am

Can I be as my God am

God of all my God am

So Lord, I see you grinnin

Must be grand always winning

How proud are you being able

To gather faith from fable

Can I be as my God am

Can you be as God am

Can I be as my God am

God of all my God am

God am

My God am

God am

God

All the respect I'm giving

Shared strength acquired by living

All blooming life you're feeding

Can't hide sick ones you're weeding

Can I be as my God am

Can you be as God am

Can I be as my God am

God of all my God am

God am

Not sure what type of Lemur ...a ruffed red ,black & white or mongrel ?? I found this guy at the lemur section in the Cotswold Wildlife Park. Like most lemurs he didn`t keep still for long . Just enough time for me to capture his powerful stare .

Not sure why but I now have several of these green Tree Frogs. Got a shot of one with it's tail too. Size of a nickel they are hard to capture free hand but I really like how this one turned out.

An interesting position this Bald Eagle takes in the air as if a bit curious about what it sees below, i.e. trying to decide what it's going to do next.

Morning view of the northernmost city in Switzerland in autumn, after the mist burned off. I can't help but think of the 1980's movie "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" in which Michael Caine played Dr. Schaffhausen from Liechtenstein to trick Steve Martin's character. I'm sure most people today have never seen it but it's a classic!

Happy Wednesday to everyone, greetings from Montenegro.

Not sure what the food is - something white that was floating on the surface of the water. Hope it wasn't bread - people are asked not to feed bread to the water fowl.

Not sure why but there appeared to be two suns shining through the Spring canopy the day I shot this one... Wishing a happy weekend to all Flickr friends :)
