the Water Thick-knee is also called Water Dikkop.

It is mostly active during the night but also partly during the day and more so than its cousin, the Spotted Thick-knee .

It lives in pairs along rivers, streams and on lake shores and feeds on insects, crustaceans, small frogs etc
