Today the helicopters involved in the firefighting effort were parked at the airport in a nice lineup. Cooler weather and some rain have brought relief. Fire now 68% contained.

Normally, there is very little activity at the airport, so when I saw them all 3 lined up like that, I literally stopped walking and said to Blanca "Wow!" and just had to go home and grab my camera for a shot!!

This is, again, another photo from our summer trip to Mississagi Provincial Park. I thought this told two wonderful, interweaving stories. The first about a boy’s love and enthusiasm for fishing and the second story of his family’s love and patient support for him and his interests.

It is always exciting to cross over the Confederation Bridge to Prince Edward Island knowing we are closer to hugging our daughter and grandkids again. On this crossing, we had this dark rain cloud skirt around us but if you look closely in the background on the right, you will see a faint rainbow on the horizon. I took that as a sign of all things working out in the upcoming days. And it did. More good weather all week allowed us to have fun with family and to do a bit of exploring on our own.

This monument shows a portion of the incredible bridge support. The bridge is the world’s longest bridge built over ice covered waters. Now, we had no ice on this trip. However, the bridge is made of concrete and reinforced steel to withstand iceberg impacts in the winter and spring. It is supported on 65 piers and construction was completed in 1997. It is supposed to last 100 years. It is truly an amazing engineering feat. We were also happy that the toll cost of the bridge has been reduced to half the price this year. It certainly makes reaching the island much easier than the old ferry. You can see the full bridge with images I have in my PEI album.

For Lisa, aka Zoom In Tight. Cancer is trying hard to knock her down but we're all here to keep her up. We're that grid you see on the building in this photo, some of us are rusty but we still have plenty of strength in us. The "jokes" are for you and a little nod to your fantastic humor.

I've searched always for someone

in and around for an ardent support

for everything I think and in every act of mine

At last I've found one

and it is none other than

myself...!
