SUPERSTAR... TULIP
These are a 'specialty' Tulip, with pointed petals, when they open completely, they look like stars... and this one was a superstar, with the odd green bit grown in.
To me: quirky=interesting=special.

Tallink Shuttle MV Superstar passes us as we approach Tallinn in Estonia, with possibly the snazziest paint job I have ever seen on a ship!
Il cadavere giaceva in mezzo alla Church Street, sul prato davanti al cartello che diceva “Chiesa di San Francesco Saverio”. Stava con la faccia nascosta dall’erba appena tagliata e sulla schiena aveva una chiazza di sangue che aveva colorato di rosso tutta la t-shirt bianca.
Il morto era Jerry Marlow, 25 anni, abitante in Church Street al numero 33, esattamente di fronte alla scuola.
Ragazzo normale. Vita come tutti i ragazzi del posto, lavoro come operaio edile per un’impresa locale, nessuna fidanzata ufficiale. Solo qualche giro al bar con gli amici, qualche birra, biliardo. Nessuna ombra, nessuna spiegazione che possa motivarne l’uccisione. Niente droghe, nessun precedente, neanche una multa.
La comunità rimase ovviamente sconvolta per un omicidio senza apparente motivazione. Il commissario interrogò decine di persone, cercò testimoni (senza trovarne) e si rivolse alla scientifica del capoluogo perché non se ne veniva a capo. E i CSI stabilirono la dinamica dell’omicidio: le tracce di Jerry partono dalla porta di casa; poi Jerry si mette a correre e perde una ciabatta; in mezzo alla Church Street viene colpito da un colpo di pistola alla schiena e riesce a trascinarsi fino all’aiuola dove viene trovato. Le tracce dell’assassino sono inesistenti. Il colpo è stato sparato da una persona in piedi, alta sui 175 centimetri da una decina di metri da Jerry. E ovviamente nessuno ha sentito lo sparo.
Le telecamere di sorveglianza, in questo paesino del Canada, dove tutti si conoscono e “lasciano la porta aperta anche di notte” praticamente non esistono, almeno in Church Street e dintorni.
Fu in questa situazione di stallo totale che il commissario chiese un intervento extra: così dalla capitale arrivò dunque Ludovic Cossette, che aveva già risolto il caso dell'omicidio di Hamel Olivier e del rapimento della bambina di Carl e Maxime Lemieux.
Quando arrivò in città venne alloggiato nell’unico albergo, in una camera troppo kitsch per i suoi gusti. Sapeva che si sarebbe fermato a lungo.
