These appear to be underfloor-engine models which were available with a number of alternative diesel or gasoline engines.

Crown was a manufacturer of coaches and school buses from California. Between 1948 and 1991 several series of Supercoaches were built. This is a former school bus from the series built in the 1960's and '70s. It has been repainted and can now be rented for special occasions.

1996 finds VC 31 at Bus Aras in Dublin, dressed for route 15.

VC 31 was new to Bus Eireann in 1996. It was one of four coaches delivered in this SuperCoach grey livery. These coaches were used to provide an enhanced service on the Dublin to Limerick Expressway route, which included a steward on board serving refreshments. The coaches also had slightly different interiors to the rest of the VC Class. VC 31 was withdrawn by 2016, spending its final years as a school bus.

Expressway route 15 used to operate from Dublin to West Clare via Limerick.

Seen in Arcadia at 99 Cent store. Driver said it was a 1957 Crown Supercoach bus, and it had been his home for the last 22 years as I recall. He was from Washington, visiting family, and headed to parts unknown. Note the license plate lower right.

This looks like another Crown Supercoach.

1960 Crown Supercoach and 1977 Crown Supercoach

n/a - 1970s Crown Supercoach - Retired; Storage Lot - Belpre, Ohio. One of the very few Crowns to have made it to Ohio by private owners. Bus was seen in 2003. Former Arizona bus.

How I wish that digital cameras had been around on 23rd September 1978 to record the presence of this remarkable coach on Central Coach Park, Blackpool.

Returning to the place where it spent its early years.

I am not certain that Standerwick staff would agree with the "Supercoach" labelling.

1997 sees VC 29 in Limerick with a service on route 12. The bus is painted in the special Super Coach livery for certain services on this route that were introduced in 1996. The bus had a toilet onboard, and an onboard host provided refreshments. This upgraded service only lasted a few years before the 12 was absorbed back into the standard Expressway network. The route fully ceased operating on the 29th January 2021.

VC 29 was delivered new in 1996. The Volvo Caetano bus ended its career as a school bus in Cavan and was withdrawn around 2016. 20/02/1997

VC29-32 were delivered in this version of the Bus Éireann Expressway livery. The concept was a superior service with Toilets and Hostess onboard the Dublin to Limerick route. It was not a success but the livery survived long after the service. VC30 is seen on a Dublin Busárus service to Ennis County Clare, April 1998
