Longest day of the year. Last sunset before the "Summer Solstice." The Summer Solstice is when the Sun appears to reach its most northerly point in the sky. For three days the sun "stands still" (Solstice=Sun stands still) and then it begins its trek southward again until the Winter Solstice and the days start to shorten.
