I just bought a MacBook today!! Still learning how to use it since I haven't used Mac OS before. :)
Have a wonderful weekend my friends!
P.S: Explore front page on 1-Mar. Thank you for your visits, comments and fav!
Whenever I have the time, I like to look back at the photos that I took few years ago and wonder how I would take the shots differently if I were to re-visit those places now.
This shot is one of those that was taken in 2007, when I first started to take photography seriously. There is nothing great to shout about technically, but I think the scenery makes up for it. This is one place that I will definitely re-visit the next time I head back to Malaysia.
Have a great weekend my friends.
Seriously cropped :)
Have a great Thursday ladies and gentlemen.
P/S: Reached #1 on Explore on 6-Jan. Thank you for your visits, comments and fav.
One of the old processed shots in my hard drive. Must go up to this hill again one day.... perhaps to capture sunset next time :)
The colorful wooden town @ Sungai Lembing. Sungai Lembing town developed in the 1880's when the British set up the tin mining industry, although the history of mining in this area extends much further back.
Sungai Lembing is an old mining town, which once had the biggest tin mine on earth. This old red building is part of the town shophouses.
Ruins of the tin mining processing building. This was once a building for Pahang Consolidated Company Ltd (PCCL), which once operated in Sungai Lembing.
Sungai Lembing was once the richest town in Pahang, known as El Dorado of the East. But that was before the world tin prices collapsed. Today many of the wooden shoplots are closed and people are moving away.
Panorama Hill (Bukit Panorama) is located in Sungai Lembing, about 45 minutes drive from Kuantan, the capital of Pahang. It is a simple 30-45 minutes 270m hike to view such scenery.
Well worth waking up at 6 AM to enjoy this smacking sunrise in Malaysia.

A trip to Kuantan, the east coast of Malaysia with Jiang. Thanks to Dr. Jamal & Dr. Ali for the warm hospitality. Without the two of you, we won't be able to see so much of Kuantan.
Thank you very much!
Panorama Hill is a popular place to see "cloud sea" and sunrise. We hiked up this mountain twice on different days but couldn't see beautiful sunrise, but the magnificent "cloud sea" and the landscape was just amazing!
We will be back for sure!
Second trip up to the panorama hill, the sun is still shy!
Color may have been boosted a bit too over here.
Thanks to Dr. Ali for bring us here!

忽闻海上有仙山,山在虚无缥缈间 - 白居易《长恨歌》
taken at Bukit Panorama, Sungai Lembing, Pahang
Sungai Lembing - ex tin mining town, 42km from Kuantan
"lembing" is Malay for spear, and "sungai" means river. Per local legend, the local ruler saw a vision of a spear in the nearby river and thus named his town after this vision
Sungai Lembing was once the richest town in Pahang, known as El Dorado of the East
the hike (which nearly took my life, lol) was about an hour. I made it eventually, the sunrise was not fantastic, but it was still worth the effort

I planned for a trip to cover coastal roads from Kuantan to Kota Baru
a very ambitious plan which is only possible if it's only for casual and not photography trip as there are too many beaches to cover
by the end of 5th day, I only reached Kuala Terengganu and it was time to come back to town for work
the weather was not really nice and I didn't get sunrise shots which are supposed to be one of the main highlights of east coast photo trip
...this only means that there would be another trip to east coast
...yay!!
