It was very windy today by the bay. So I hastily set up my shot for the sunset at our local wildlife refuge before calling it a day.

Valentines Day warmup - sunset in La Jolla, featuring the elevated Lifeguard Tower on Prospect Ave.

Things were looking promising, but nothing was happening until suddenly the sky lit up.

I was actually in another area just down the street, and had packed up my gear and was heading back when this happened. I was able to quickly setup next to the tower and get a decent composition.

I have seen this tower many times before, but this is my first time to photograph it.... makes a nice subject I think.
