Hello August :) The summer days are subtly growing shorter, as they grow hotter. I really hope that we are spared those smoky days that have become sadly linked to this month in my mind. This flower is new to my garden - it is a combination of Echinacea and Rudbeckia called Echibeckia. For me it epitomizes the month of August.

Just another simple shot from the beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline.

If memory serves ... I took this one in Grand Haven.

"Journey to the Sun: The Marmara Soar" is a serendipitous capture during a voyage back to Istanbul, where the sun's descent into the Marmara Sea painted the sky in a spectrum of fiery hues. Amidst this tranquil maritime odyssey, a fortuitous series of shots framed the glorious sunset, culminating in this one: a solitary bird, its trajectory set towards the heart of the sun.

This photograph transcends a mere sunset; it is a narrative of return and discovery. The bird, a fleeting silhouette against the sun's radiant canvas, mirrors my own journey on the ship, a path illuminated by the golden hour's reflection on the water. The moment was unscripted, the alignment perfect – a testament to the unforeseen beauty that unfolds when you're sailing towards the world's edge.

As I steadied my lens, the cosmos aligned for a brief instant, allowing me to immortalize the bird's daring flight into the dying light. It was an unplanned dance with the sun, a natural convergence that symbolizes hope, freedom, and the pursuit of light even as darkness approaches. This image, a cherished entry for 'My Best Photo 2023', invites you to soar with me and embrace the journey towards the luminous unknown.

There was a dead body near to us in the canal and we were not aware of that.

Snapped this a few days ago at Villaggio dei Pescatori, where the waves whisper “summer is coming” 🌊☀️

The breeze, the sun, the sparkle… just a little teaser of what’s to come

Is it too early to say “ciao office, buongiorno beach”? 😎

Je suis content d'avoir chopé des reflets du soleil plutôt précis sur la Garonne, car comme Bordeaux est au niveau de la mer on a de grosses marées...

I'm satisfied with the sun reflection paths in the river, 'cause as Bordeaux is at the sea level, we have big tides...

How many storms one has to go through in his life? How many choices of life one has to make? Does a storm come after a decision is made, or a storm leads to another decision?

What choices lead us to heaven? Why there have to be storms on the road to heaven? Are we on the road to heaven, or to hell? Would there be no storm in heaven? Or, there would be storms in either place?

Life is like a maze that every turn leads us to another maze. More choices of life have to be made after a turn. What guiding us is our faith, and values that we believe in.

We are all sun chaser. We steer our boat through one storm after another. We make turns but we still sail toward our sun. When we touch the sun, some may be burnt to ashes while a few lucky ones reborn like a phoenix.

Construction d'un immeuble résidentiel à Bordeaux Bastide.

Seul le rez-de-chaussée était construit au début de la pose, ce qui explique les rayons de soleil qui "traversent" le bâtiment fantôme au niveau des étages ;)

Residential block construction, Bordeaux Bastide, FRANCE.

Only the ground floor was built at the beginning of the exposure, which explains the sunpath "passing through" the ghost floors above ;)

Last year i wanted to do a two-week-long exposure of the funfair, to see if the ferris wheel would become invisible or not... But when i saw the result i realized that my framing sucked : i had cut the top of the fucking ferris wheel !

Therefore i waited till the next year (for the funfair to go back), in order to complete the top of my composition ;)
