HAPPY SUMMERTIME! on this hemisphere!

Worldwide, interpretation of the summer solstice has varied among cultures, but most recognize the event in some way with holidays, festivals, and rituals around that time with themes of religion or fertility.[5]

Still a lot of snow around here and looking forward to seeing some greenery again. Happy St. Patrick's Day.

This is from my last home time. I took my mom with me up Little Cottonwood Canyon (Salt Lake County, Utah) and took a variety of rushing stream shots as darkness fell.

Pacific Crest Trail, Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, Washington

After what has seemed like the longest, wettest, coldest spring ever, and after hiking last weekend in a chilly downpour with rain gear and fleece layers, I finally had the chance to hike in glorious summer sunshine today.

The higher alpine areas are still under snow cover, including much of my favorite summer hiking destination, Mount Rainier National Park. So I headed to the mid-elevation mountains of the Central Cascades near Snoqualmie Pass and hiked a section of the Pacific Crest Trail. It is always a bit of a thrill for me to hike on part of this iconic trail and today the views were spectacular.

It was a joyous, heart-happy day being back in the mountains and the sunshine, and the entire hike felt like a celebration.

Taken in fields in NE England, near Durham. Pleased with my new lens. Nikon 70-400mm AF VR ED zoom, bought it second hand, a bargain.

Fields in the Spenge area in June. Not quite the middle of nowhere, but you can see it from there...

Digging back into my files, I rediscovered this image from last summer. By late summer, the Wild Teasel wild flowers had turned into seed pods and were everywhere around this park in the east end of Windsor, Ontario. The golden light of the setting sun helped to define the shape of these interesting wild flowers.

If we could see the miracle of a single flower, clearly our life would change... Don`t you think? Enjoy, my friend):
