It's not summer in my part of the world, but mid-winter sunshine, palm trees and a glass of wine spell "holiday" to me!
This picture was taken at Merewether Beach, NSW. I really love this picture as for me it gives it a memorable summer vacation feeling with a father and son heading out to surf together. Even though in Australia we are actually in the middle of winter.

If you´re looking for a quiet and modern hotel with a spectacular infinity-pool in a beautiful city with good weather guarantee - well, look somewhere else!
Seriously, as school holidays are still 4 weeks ahead, I spent a short weekend in Kassel and "dokumenta 14" (google if you like...).
The diving board on top of the old hotel is a statement and piece of art titled "ARSCHBOMBE" (translates: cannonball (?)) by Ralph Raabe from 2002.

It’s peak of summer and, in the United States, we’re heading into a long holiday weekend. That means bust out the pool floaties, grab the beach towel, pack your travel guide, or load into the car for a road trip. It’s summer vacation time! This week, for the Flickr Friday Group challenge, we want to see amazing shots of your #SummerVacations.
Remember the photograph has to be taken this week. If you don’t plan on going on vacay this week then get creative and stage something beautiful or amusing. Take a day trip.
