Rhapsodic Theogony & Idyllic Sunsets in Santorini
Pythagorianism & Orphic Hymns
HEAR golden Titan, whose eternal eye
With broad survey, illumines all the sky.
Self-born, unwearied in diffusing light,
And to all eyes the mirrour of delight:
Lord of the seasons, with thy fiery car
And leaping coursers, beaming light from far:
With thy right hand the source of morning light,
And with thy left the father of the night.
Agile and vig'rous, venerable Sun,
Fiery and bright around the heav'ns you run.
Foe to the wicked, but the good man's guide,
O'er all his steps propitious you preside:
With various founding, golden lyre, 'tis mine
To fill the world with harmony divine
Father of ages, guide of prosp'rous deeds,
The world's commander, borne by lucid steeds,
Immortal Jove, all-searching, bearing light,
Source of existence, pure and fiery bright
Bearer of fruit, almighty lord of years,
Agil and warm, whom ev'ry pow'r reveres.
Great eye of Nature and the starry skies,
Doom'd with immortal flames to set and rise
Dispensing justice, lover of the stream,
The world's great despot, and o'er all supreme.
Faithful defender, and the eye of right,
Of steeds the ruler, and of life the light:
With founding whip four fiery steeds you guide,
When in the car of day you glorious ride.
Propitious on these mystic labours shine,
And bless thy suppliants with a life divine.

The Adler Hotel, also known as the Hotel Adler, was a 150-room, five-story hotel in Sharon Springs, New York, that operated from 1929 until 2004. Known for its therapeutic sulfur spa, it catered primarily to a Jewish clientele who travelled to Sharon Springs in the summers. It was kosher, with two kitchens. It was built in the Spanish Colonial Revival style and was adjacent to the Pavilion Hotel (demolished in 1941), which had been a summer destination for guests such as the Vanderbilts, Rensselaers, and Oscar Wilde. Ed Koch worked as a busboy at the Adler Hotel in 1946. When Steven Spielberg was preparing for Schindler's List, he interviewed survivors staying at the hotel.

If you like abandoned images then I am almost certain you have seen this scene at this same location over and over and over by dozens and dozens of others. Well...surprise because here it is again.
Just imagine you wakeup on your back on a damp, crusty and moldy carpet somewhere and not knowing how you even got there. You roll your head to the left and this is what you see.
Feels like a bad dream or a really bad trip that probably isn't over. But you can feel the dampness from the carpet on the back of your head and looking up you see a ceiling that doesn't look like it should even be there and will probably come down soon. Your fingers can even feel the cold and dirty carpet pile. Maybe its just the smell of the mildew and mold messing with you or, maybe you just got home.

From Riga, we continued our journey north to Estonia, with our first stop being Pärnu, about 200 kilometers from Riga. Although we had been traveling through the Baltic States, this was the first time we truly saw the Baltic Sea. You could argue that we were close to the sea while visiting the Curonian Spit near Klaipéda, but there, we were more focused on the lagoon and didn’t actually reach the Baltic shore. In Pärnu, we stayed at the Hedon Beach and Spa Hotel, which, while perhaps not the best hotel in the world, is certainly the best you’ll find in Pärnu. The hotel’s architecture stands out, offering a blend of modern design and historical elements, making it a unique landmark on Pärnu’s coastline. The building’s clean lines and thoughtful design allowed me to capture some almost abstract architectural monochrome images - Pärnu, Estonia

Pärnu is a coastal city known for its sandy beaches and as a popular summer destination. During the Soviet era, it was a favored resort town, famous for its sanatoriums offering spa treatments and mud baths. Despite suffering some damage during WWII, Pärnu has preserved much of its character. Post-war rebuilding and Soviet-era construction have shaped the city’s architectural landscape.Today, Pärnu attracts tourists, especially from Estonia, Finland, and Germany. Many Germans visit due to historical and cultural ties, dating back to medieval times when German crusaders and merchants were active in the region. On our first night, a thunderstorm created a dramatic and photogenic sky, offering very interesting opportunities for capturing some seascapes - Pärnu, Estonia

I look forward to visiting his neighbour Mount Kranrod this summer. Access will require a canoe ride, bushwack, scramble up & ridge walking. The drooping foreground tree is pointing at Kranrod.
Embrace the tranquil symphony of waves caressing the shore, under the watchful gaze of lush green bluffs. Taken in Encinitas, California.

Crescent Beach is a beach side community within South Surrey, British Columbia next to Boundary Bay and Mud Bay across from Delta, British Columbia. It is home to 1,200 residents, mostly in single-family homes.
Visit Crescent Beach for a fun day on the seaside! Enjoy swimming, beach volleyball and scenic views from the pier and nature trails. The best beach access points are found on Beecher Street, Sullivan Street, and Target Street. At Sullivan Point, you will find spots to play beach volleyball and a large grassy area ideal for a blanket picnic.
Crescent Beach dates back to 1909 when development of the Great Northern Railway first made the beach easily accessible to the public. In 1912, this area was promoted as a resort area complete with a trendy hotel, pier and train station. One year later, dykes were built to prevent flooding and allow for development of the surrounding neighbourhood.
Today, the dykes are used as a waterfront pathway and while the hotel and train station have long since disappeared, the beach remains a popular summer destination for families.
