Water fowl hunting is a big sport on the Eastern shores of Maryland and Virginia. All sorts of water fowl pass through the area during migration. You see these blinds on nearly all the rivers and creeks. It's not everyone's idea of something to do but is very popular.
Personally, I'd use the blind to take pictures!
The hunters wait in the blind for a flock to arrive. They use dogs to swim out and retrieve the birds. There is a special breed of dog especially for that the Chesapeake Bay Retriever
As we were cruising last Sunday we passed this darling little house on Skipton Creek. I was amazed it was so small since waterfront homes are often mansions. Well, when we went around the bend back into Wye River, we saw the actual house, and boat house and other buildings.....this must be a guest house!
Much too hot today for outside stuff. Heat index of 109F!
I often find these Bumble bees snoozing on the blooming plants. When I touched this one, he roused enough to change his position a bit. It seems they get a little too much nectar!
