Mt. Sibayak (Indonesian:Gunung Sibayak) is a small stratovolcano overlooking the town of Berastagi in northern Sumatra, Indonesia. Although its last eruption was more than a century ago, geothermal activity in the form of steam vents and hot springs remains high on and around the volcano. The vents produce crystalline sulfur, which was mined on a small scale in the past.

Terlihat 2 pekerja wanita pemetik teh sedang menjalankan aktifitasnya sehari-hari di kebun teh Sidamanik PTPN IV. Para pemetik teh disini rata-rata adalah transmigran dari Jawa sejak beberapa tahun yang lalu.

Perkebunan teh sidamanik ini adalah perkebunan teh hitam terbesar kedua setelah Jawa Barat.

Saya menyarankan bila anda ingin jalan-jalan ke danau toba, mampir lah disini beberapa jam untuk menikmati lokasi yang indah in.

Two ladies seen as they are the tea picker in Sidamanik Plantation in North Sumatra. They are from Java, generally they are the family group transmigration program for a few years ago.

This tea plantation is the second greatest black tea plantation in Indonesia after West Java.

I suggest if you want to travel to the Lake Toba that better you take a part for a few hours at this tea plantation for enjoy the niceful location.

Samosir, or Samosir Island, is a large volcanic island in Lake Toba, located in the north of the island of Sumatra in Indonesia. Administratively, Samosir Island is governed as six of the nine districts within Samosir Regency. The lake and island were formed after the eruption of a super volcano some 75,000 years ago. The island was originally connected to the surrounding caldera wall by a small isthmus, which was cut through to aid navigation.

At 630 km², Samosir is the largest island within an island, and the fifth largest lake island in the world.

Setelah 5 jam perjalanan dari Medan..., akhirnya kami tiba juga di Pulau Samosir dengan menyeberangi sebuah Kapal Ferry pengangkut Kendaraan. Padahal bila tidak berhenti untuk memotret, perjalanan ini hanya membutuhkan waktu sekitar 3 jam saja.

Adapun rute yang kami tempuh bukanlah sama seperti yang ditempuh kebanyakan orang bila berpergian dari Medan Ke Danau Toba yaitu melewati kota Siantar. Sedangkan Kami mengambil Jalur alternatif yang justru lebih bagus dan sepi yaitu melewati dataran tinggi Berastagi dan Kabanjahe..., walaupun akhirnya akan bertemu juga di kota prapat untuk menyeberang ke pulau Samosir.

Penyeberangan ini membutuhkan waktu 1 jam.

Kalau tidak mengingat hari menjelang malam, pasti kami akan selalu banyak melakukan perhentian, karena banyak spot indah disini, banyak anak-anak pengembala kerbau, petani, dll.

.

Di Pulau Samosir banyak terdapat Hotel dan cottage murah, nyaman dan bersih, langsung berhadapan dengan pantai Danau Toba.

Salah satunya adalah TABO. ownernya adalah seorang Jerman, namanya sist. Annet, dia sangat fasih berbahasa Batak dan bahasa Indonesia.

Rate kamar TABO hanya Rp 150.000,- per malam - tentunya bila 1 kamar di isi untuk berdua akan membuat biaya lebih hemat lagi.

Dengan teliti inang ( ibu ) ini memilah satu persatu bibit padi yang harus di tanam sebelum di semai pada musim tanamnya nanti. Beginilah kehidupan masyarakat Batak disini dimana perempuan lebih memegang peranan sebagai tulang punggung keluarga.

Inang ( This mother ) sort out one by one carefully the rice seedlings in nurseries before using the earnings season. Just like any other of Batak people.., she's really an important role as the backbone of the family.
