Scorpion VS Subzero

Made By Yours Truly

These leading lines created by freezing conditions and snowdrift just under the surface of a frozen lakeshore provide the perfect foreground to an explosive display of aurora in the sky. With wind chill, the temperature was near -15F at night.

It's SubZERO Time again in San Jose. This is Amber from Human Art Collective on Friday night.

Ever since Black Manta has been released, I've mainly been playing Injustice and getting the gear sets for characters. So here are some characters that I've gotten to level 20 recently!

Bane- For this gear set, I wanted to get as close to his original appearance from the Nightfall storyline as possible. I had to use a shader that makes him a little green, but it makes his eyes red which is all I care about. Besides his mask, I just put some high level gear on him.

Sub-Zero- The thing that I like the most about this gear set is all the frost over his body. I really had no specifications for this gear set, but I did want him to have a hood and a cape because I think it looks pretty cool. Also, the ice hammer I have makes his ice clone look like a penguin, so that's pretty neat!

Harley Quinn- So I got this gear set from today's Harley Quinn 25th Anniversary Multiverse Event. I wanted to make my Harley Quinn look as close to her Animated Series appearance and I guess I worked out all right.

Robin- Now this gear set is something that I'm really proud of. First off, I actually got the Staff of Grayson from a Motherbox which blew my mind because it's really rare! I also got the Nightwing shader from a Motherbox in like the same sitting as the Staff of Grayson, which is pretty lucky! So yeah, I made my Robin look like Nightwing, which is pretty cool.

Black Manta- Now the only thing I cared about for Black Manta was to keep his helmet the way it is in the comics. Black Manta has some pretty fucked up helmet in this game, and none of them really seemed better than his standard one. Besides his helmet, I just gave him the highest leveled gear.

Well, that's all for this time. I know I said I was going to showcase Batman and Cyborg, but I still need to level up Cyborg a bit and I still can't get that fucking Kryptonite-infused helmet to make my Batman look like the one from BvS. So I guess tune in next time for those guys!

Balto was a Siberian Husky sled dog which earned celebrity status for his heroics in 1925. In January 1925, a diphtheria outbreak threatened the children of Nome, Alaska—some 700 miles from the medicine they needed in Anchorage. In a story that captivated the world, twenty sled dog teams relayed the medicine through blinding snow and subzero temperatures, with an intrepid Siberian husky named Balto completing the final 53-mile leg of the journey. Musher of sled Gunnar Kaasen stated he could barely see his hand in front of his face in the whiteout blizzard conditions. Balto's team did their leg of the run almost entirely in the dark. At Nome, everybody wanted to thank Kaasen for saving the children at first, but he suggested giving praise to Balto as well. New York City was adamant about honoring him, and the sculpture was dedicated on December 17 1925. in Central Park. Balto died in March 1933 in ease at Cleveland Zoo. After he died, his body was mounted and displayed in the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, where it remains today.

It was a cold Sunday morning with the wind chill factor at -15F (-26C) when I drove to the end of Sheboygan's South Pier district. After taking a few photos of the ice and mist I started to drive away, then came to a sudden halt to watch this event.

Just across the Sheboygan River from South Pier is a U.S. Coast Guard station. These guardsmen were performing a rescue by ice drill in the subzero weather. I'm very sure that they were glad that the government shutdown was over and that this was a paid activity. Knowing their dedication, they would have been out there even if the shutdown hadn't ended for the moment, hence the "True Grit" title.

Day 5/365

Yesterday, I decided to try and shoot in La Hague, at sunset.

Unfortunately, the sky got suddenly very grey, and it began to rain... I decided to try to go anyway. After 15 minutes, the sky became clear again, and I finally arrived where I wanted: La baie d'Ecalgrain, a wonderful place.

The wind was so cold that after 30 minutes, I had to go back home: my fingers were so numb that I couldn't change the settings on my camera.

I wish you all a wonderful evening, I hope you get all the presents you asked for, I hope Santa can manage !! ;o)

Shooting night sky images is always interesting, and in this case the light spilling out from someone turning on a light in a nearby house provided interesting light painting on the heavy fallen snow and archway leading up to the stars. I enjoyed the end result, which shows that the Samyang AF 14mm F2.8 (the first autofocusing third party lens for Canon RF) is a nice option for shooting astrophotography. In a Target parking lot, in a blizzard, people braved the subzero temperatures and gusty winds to do their shopping on a Friday afternoon in Michigan.

The icy signature of record-breaking freezing temperatures last night. For this largely tropical region, it is a Big Deal.

Judging by the amount of Parrots & Galahs feeding besides the tracks I'd say there had been a few grain train movements during the day!

Subzero temperatures have created a lovely winter sight at RSPB Greylake. The early morning sun provides the warm yellow glow.

We had some incredibly cold winter nights this year already. Not surprising to find trees covered in a thick rime ice coat, usually building up only on the highest ridges here in the mountains during extended periods of subzero temperatures, high winds and thick fog; which make photography very challenging, if not impossible. Fog means no vision and light and no fog means harsh light and no atmosphere, even at sunset.

I opted to make it out exactly during the transition from fog to clear skies. Most of the time, this event takes place during the day, when I am not likely to be out shooting but eventually, it once happened right before the sun set, providing an amazing sight with warm evening light breaking through the fog and illuminating the hoarfrost covered trees from behind.

"The Iceman Kometh!"

Although I built magnifigures of Raiden and Scorpion in 2016, I recently decided to build some more based on my old concepts. Here we see the cheapest character in the franchise: Sub-Zero. When I was young, I was unable to beat the SEGA Genesis version with any character except Sub-Zero -- as my strategy was to constantly freeze and uppercut the opponent into the corner.

The road through Grasslands National Park can look a little foreboding in winter. There are, however, a few advantages over summer: No dust. No mosquitoes. No tourists.

I took a chance that there would be a break in the storm and I would be able to catch this view even though it was so cold and windy. I was rewarded with frozen legs and a thrilling experience.
