This is a more unique view of Kirkjufell. I tried to get a good reflection on the water but it just wasn't showing so i just went with a long exposure to add some cool texture.
Soft, subtle and “Quiet As A Rose” This rose is small and petite. A rose does doesn’t make a sound but it’s beauty can get people talking. Lightly the light dances on its surface and shows off her beauty. Gratitude and Kindness filled the room when I captured this. Thanks for viewing and leaving any comments you please.

A bit of artistic coastal geology is right up my photographic street. My strong preference for this kind of subject is soft overcast light. Strong sunlight will often overwhelm the subtle tone and colour on which an image like this relies. As ever, however, we work with what we're given. At this time of year, the sun is at least relatively low in the sky, giving raking side light that reveals form and texture. The challenge then becomes about making the most of what's available, which is what I tried to do here. This was the location I most wanted to visit in Northumberland, so I was initially disappointed with both the conditions and my photographic efforts. All the more so when a return visit later in the week was thwarted by driving rain, strong wind and a surging tide, making photography impossible. But the rock strata are so incredible, I have to share one or two images here.

With perfect waxy blooms, the magnolia grandiflora in our garden has performed well this year giving us a number of blooms at eye level that I can never resist photographing. Having just opened, this specimen was in peak condition before the pollinators get in and also smelling wonderfully. It may seem a good chance to go B&W but I rather like like the subtle yellowish / off white colour of the petals and so have left this in colour.
There was a lovely soft grey light on the English Channel today from Seaford Head. I kind of liked the subtle tones on this shot. I didn't take a landscape lens, nor a tripod so this is with the big Tamron and handheld. The rain clouds in the distance soon came in but I was back in the car with a coffee and sandwich by then after a good, long morning walk.
Was very happy to see the camera capture this shot. The bird was in very dark shadows so I was glad to see a salvageable image. Now I just need to figure out how to adjust my settings :)
Thanks for the comments, faves and visits

Framed by the weathered wood of an observation deck, this image offers a panoramic view of a sprawling wetland, alive with the tranquil beauty of nature's canvas. The deck, a deliberate pause along the meandering boardwalk, provides a stationary vantage point for visitors to soak in the serene landscape. It overlooks a mosaic of water and reeds, a habitat teeming with life yet quiet in its afternoon repose. The sky above, dotted with carefree clouds, reflects in the still waters below, completing a picture of serene symmetry. This spot is more than a mere platform; it is an invitation to stand still, watch, and connect with the subtle rhythms of an ecosystem in its natural state.
This off to the side comp makes the reflection not so overwhelming ... pretty lighting as the morning progressed there in Arches National Park.

... and so many things to photograph in a winter garden. Sometimes I catch my breath at sunlight hitting a snow-laden spent bloom. And if one looks closely, these seedheads contain the promise of beauty for another summer. Simple elegance... and I hope I don't tire you out looking at endless photographs of my garden in winter.
Pilot Knob State Park - Iowa
Out hiking Monday in the state park area looking for simple earthy autumn colors. I'm not sure what the proper name is, but they line the paths and road every fall.
It's the simple plants and foliage I truly enjoy . . . and also this beautiful mosaic background otherwise referred to as bokeh.
