Subtly patterned brown-and-yellow warbler (Setophaga palmarum), known for constantly bobbing its tail. Often forages on the ground, unlike most other warblers. Breeding plumage shows a rufous cap. In fall and winter, look for pale eyebrow and dark line through the eye, diffuse streaks on underparts, and bright yellow undertail coverts.

"And when I'm sad

Just hold me

And when I'm crazy

Suddenly walk away

And when I'm silly

Subtly disguise

But when I'm dead

I beg you not to kill me

Inside you

Even if the world ends, anyway

Inside everything that fits you

Even if the world ends, anyway

Inside everything that fits you..."

“ There are infinite shadings of light and shadows and colors…it’s an extraordinarily subtle language. Figuring out how to speak that language is a lifetime job.” - Conrad Hall

Last week I posted images I took of the ice sculptures clinging to reeds in a lake nearby. We went back there after a snowfall and this is what the reeds looked like this time.

The roses (Rosa) are the eponymous genus of the rose family (Rosaceae). The genus includes, depending on the author's opinion, 100 to 250 species.

For the most part the changes have not occurred but walking along the lake there were subtle signs of Autumn in the air. Have a great week my friends. ~Sam

Male Purple Hairstreak.......fresh, and ready to fly......

The curiosity of a chiffchaff is balanced by its weight =)

CUTE!

Sundays Sunset was a pleasant subtle surprise.

Had this all to myself tonight, not a great sky but with an extremely long exposure, and a bit of subtle after sun colour, i think its quite pleasing on the eye. the reason for the longer than normal exposure was i was waiting for an afterburn but it didn't happen.

Virginia - The subtle colors of nature....simplicity, and beauty, all wrapped up together.

I cannot help it but I like the modest colors better during fall

last year that was

while this year stormy weather took away the leaves soon, while they were still rather green

McKee Botanical Garden July 2015

In the early 1970's, the development of I-95 and competition from large-scale attractions caused attendance to decline. By 1976 the Gardens were forced to close, and the property was sold and zoned for development. All but 18 acres were developed into condominiums while the remaining land lay dormant for twenty years. In 1994, the Indian River Land Trust launched a fund- raising campaign and successfully purchased the property. An additional $9 million was raised to purchase, stabilize and restore the Garden, and in November 2001 a formal dedication ceremony was held for McKee Botanical Garden.

With dandelions I usually shoot them against black, against a bokeh filled background or cover them with water droplets. Decided on subtle for a change this time to make them appear more soft and well, fluffy!

The subtle things

Subtle things, ahh....

A pot of pink tulips resting on a wicker table....

Did you ever have a picture that didn't turn out the way you imagined but you like it anyway? This is one of those times....just something about it.......

Still practicing.

Off camera flash enabled me to capture one of my favourite rose's just as darkness fell. I love the brightness of the centre of the flower with the low key around it.
