I rarely apply a tint to my bw images, but it has been fun to come up with images to go along with Dylan songs :)

The end of "Lower Carroll Avenue" Chicago, Illinois. Where ever this is, Google maps does not acknowledge that it exists.
Designed by Edward Bell and built from 1864 to 1866 and operated as a water reservoir which accepted water from the Botany Swamps pumping station for supply to parts of Sydney between 1866 and 1899
This is one of the most finished architectural realizations of Tiahuanaco's time of splendor. It is more than two meters below the level of the surrounding area. It has an almost quadrangular plan and is composed by walls with 57 pillars supporting red sandstone and ashlars of the same material.

The new Horror style works really well for sci fi and fantasy scenes. Thanks Wombo!
For whatever reason this cavernous underground space seemed like it should be the stage for an epic rock opera. Lower Randolph and Columbus, Chicago, Illinois.
Another image of the basement car park at the University of Melbourne. It is an unusual design, quite contemporary at the time, both in terms of aesthetic as well as design. The car park was used in the filming of Mad Max. The puddle of water in this image wasn't particularly large or deep, but made for an interesting effect up close with a wide angled lens.
These subterranean fresh water lakes were sacred for the Mayan people who used as sources of water supply or for occasional sacrifices. They are an amazing place for a refreshing swim today.

Empty aggregate boxes from Banbury Reservior Sidings to Hindlow in the Peak District enters the subterranean delights of Walsall station led by GBRf's Class 66 #66731, "Capt. Tom Moore"; on the early evening of Tuesday the 23rd of May 2023.
One of the things I love most about blogging is the opportunity to just run with it. Crazy post apocalyptic fantasy idea? Run with it. Weird centaurpede avatar put together almost entirely with items from the Necrotize event? Run with it!
Now run and buy stuff, be my reason to keep blogging!

The boardwalk, lighting, at least 50+ sleeping bats (of 12 species) hanging from the ceiling, mainly in clusters; a huge stalagmite, stalactites, and a landscape almost reminiscent of Hieronymus Bosch art (without the humans).
This was what we saw as we climbed the boardwalk going up after we had entered the first stage of Deer Cave! (previous shot and description).
Although this is the second shot opening the Sarawak, Mulu, Cave Series 'officially', I include the first 2 published already in our initial getting ready stage: "The Stalagmite Splash Cup", and "Strings of Water", thus making it the fourth shot.
To recall, stalagmites, as well as stalactites, are both icicle-shaped mineral deposits that form in caves. Stalagmites grow upward from the floor, and stalactites grow downward from the ceilings. When they grow large enough to touch and grow together, they form a column that reaches from the floor to the ceiling. We will see more of them as the series continues.
Interestingly, stalagmites and stalactites are known as speleothems, and can archive Earth's climate changes from the Palaeozoic era to the present; i.e., from about 54 million years ago!

(Pls also note sometimes other photos on other subjects/aspects may also be posted, during this photographic exploration).
I lived in a Basement flat in N16 in the 60's and 70's till I was 11.
The features that came with a Privately Rented subterranean basement flat in my experience back then were: The Garden, a lack of natural light, very big spiders, mice, A coal cupboard, a tin bath, an outside toilet and rising damp. We had a full length patterned glass front door with wrought iron fixed inside against it to add to our security.
I took this on our photo excursion last Sunday.
This is just a small part of the foundations of a massive shopping centre. It looks like the weight of the world above is bearing down on you.
Can you imagine how much concrete has gone into this.
I have purposely exaggerated the HDR process, because well ..... I wanted to.
