Enns river valley - Styria/Austria

Schloss Gabelhofen is a moated castle in Aichfeld in Upper Styria. It is located on the territory of the Austrian municipality of Fohnsdorf.

Story

The building was first mentioned in 1443 as Hof Riegersdorf, which belonged to the lordship of Liechtenstein near Judenburg. In 1490 the farm went to the Pfanngau family and the expansion into a Renaissance moated castle began.

After the Pfanngau dynasty died out, the castle passed to the Pranckh lords Catzianer and Galler. In 1494, the Liechtensteiners took over the castle again and gave it as a fief to the Prankhherren, who completed the conversion around 1536.

Zeutschach is located a few kilometers west of Neumarkt in Styria on a plateau (1043 m above sea level) on the eastern slope of the Grebenzen, south of the Neumarkt saddle. The area, which includes both of the main peaks of the Grebenzen and the high plateau to the east, lies entirely in a landscape conservation area and in the Grebenzen Nature Park.

Gruner Park in the state of Styria in Austria is one of the most amazing magical places in the world.

This place turns into an underwater park during the summer because the snow from the Hochschwab mountains melts and fills the park's lake up to 12 meters, covering the banks, benches, trails... From the end of summer and autumn, the lake returns to a picturesque lake with beautiful reflections.

The lake got the name "Green Lake" (Gruner See in German) because of its emerald-green water which is actually a reflection of the surrounding forests and mountains.
