Here’s a great example of a vehicle that you would be able to photograph and not be judged as a crazy person. There’s even the driver and a passenger within the cab,

This 1966 model Ford F100 was parked at one of the 3+ hardware stores at which I like to buy goods. The Twin I Beam independent front suspension was new for 1965 Ford 2WD trucks. This one is also nicely equipped with Cragar S/S wheels.

The Ford F100 pickup is a 1960 model year example, the fourth and final model year of this 3rd generation F-Series which debuted for model year 1957. This one features the modern-appearing Styleside box.

The Ford Falcon Futura beside it is a 1964 model, the Second Generation of Ford’s compact model.

Introduced in 1961 the fourth generation F Series Pickup Truck was lower and wider than previous generations, its bed sides matched the height of the bonnet and lower edge of the cab windows and the model returned to a single pair of head lamps.. Dubbed the integrated pick up Ford welded the cab and body together before their placement on the frame (removing the cab-bed gap), until the 1964 model year when Ford reverted to the traditional separate cab and bed design for the Styleside bed.

For 1965, the fourth generation underwent a substantial revision, with Ford introducing a chassis and cab that would underpin the F-Series through 1979. The update marked the introduction of the long-running "Twin I-Beam" independent front suspension and 300 cubic-inch inline-6

Here's another view of that 1965 Ford Styleside pickup that was parked at our local grocery store.

The F-250 was rated at 3/4 ton. Model year 1965 was the first with Ford’s ‘Twin-I-Beam’ front suspension on 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton 2 wheel drive trucks

An emblem for a V-8 engine appears on the hood.

I would guess that this one is a 1962 model 4th Generation F-Series Ford but with a 1963 or 1964 hood judging from the shape of the emblem on the side. Also note that the cargo box is one designed for a Generation 3 Ford F-Series pickup. This is not an incorrect application.

The third-generation of the Ford F-Series is a series of trucks that were produced by Ford from 1957 until 1960. Following its competitors at Dodge and General Motors, Ford widened the front bodywork to integrate the cab and front fenders together. Going a step further, the F-Series integrated the hood into the bodywork with a clamshell design. Although offered previously, the optional chrome grille was far more prominent than before. In the rear, two types of pickup boxes were offered, starting a new naming convention: the traditional separate-fender box was dubbed "Flareside", while "Styleside" boxes integrated the pickup bed, cab, and front fenders together. _Wikipedia

Model year 1970 I believe. Styleside bed/box.

The 4th Generation of Ford’s F pickup trucks spanned model years 1961-66. New for the generation was the ‘integrated pickup’ design in which the bed was welded directly onto the cab. This was intended to save assembly steps in the factory and to replace the ‘Styleside’ bed of the previous generation in which the two parts were mounted separately on the vehicle frame.

However, truck buyers weren’t completely sold on the idea for various reasons having to do with ride and durability of the design. To satisfy potential Ford buyers who wanted the conventional configuration in which the cab and bed weren’t directly attached together, they then offered a combination of a Gen 4 cab mismatched with the Gen 3 box for a couple of model years! By the middle of 1963, Ford finally offered a separate Gen 4 Styleside box that matched the style of the Gen 4 cab.

This one has the Styleside box that was integrated with the cab. Many truck consumers wanted the bed to be separate from the cab so Ford met the need with an interim solution followed by a permanent one.

1960 Ford F-100

So, the third Ford F pickup. Looks very different.

Yes, with the third series Ford introduced the styleside, as they call it, and have the mudgurads integrated in the bodywork. That was back in '57, this is the 5th generation from 1969

We jumped - what about the 3rd and 4th generation?

4th comes tomorrow, still needs some tweaks, 3rd isn't even in the making.

Oh-kay, counting like Star Wars. Can't wait to see what's coming next!

Chevy Cameo Carrier (1955-1958)

Boasting V-8 power, automatic transmission, two-tone paint, and deluxe interior, Introduced in 1955, Chevrolet Cameo shortened the distance between car and truck. Although not a big seller, it set the stage for other stylish trucks, such as the Ford Styleside, the Dodge Sweptside, and Chevy's own Fleetside pickup. This a 1957 version. The series ran until 1958.
