Academic Year 2016-2017

UNC Charlotte Exchange: Nagoya University of Foreign Studies

Every fall in the town of Korankei, there is the Maple Festival that celebrates the coming of autumn as the leaves turn color. When I went in November it was raining, but it did not detract from the beauty of the landscape. In fact I think it made the mountain even more ephemeral. The fog hides the reds and yellows of the leaves and urges you to look harder. The redness of the bridge compliments the theme of autumn and seeing everyone with their colorful umbrellas really reminds me how colorful autumn is.

Mostar, Bosnia-Herzegovina

Honorable Mention

"Mostar, which underwent significant damages from the Bosnian war, is now in a state of tranquility. This picture, taken after sunrise, represents the peacefulness of the city. Bosnians take pride in “Stari Most,” the old bridge in the picture, which has been destroyed as a product of the recent wars and rebuilt multiple times. Citizens of Mostar celebrate the end of the war by holding an annual bridge jumping contest during the summer."

Fall 2017

ISA Barcelona, Spain: Spanish Language, Liberal Arts & Business - Semester/Academic Year

A landscape of one of the primary spots to see an amazing view of Barcelona. Park Güell was designed by the famous artist Gaudi. This was known to me by the movie The Cheetah Girls in Barcelona.
