Reception for EOP Resilient Scholars 2015.
On May 1, 2015 the Educational Opportunity Programs (EOP) proudly celebrated the graduation of six remarkable students in its Resilient Scholars Program (RSP). The mission of RSP is to empower former foster youth through higher education. Without support services, less than 1% of all foster youth who attend a four year university graduate from college, yet studies suggest that programs such as RSP can raise that graduation rate to 20%.
This year's graduates are:
Angel Arevalo - BA, Communication Studies
Walter Harris - BA, Child Development with a minor in Africana studies
JAsemein Hicks - BA, Child and Adolescent Development
Destiny Melody Johnson - MS, College Counseling and Student Services
Demontae "Tae" Thompson - BA, Business Management

I like how you can easily identify all of the Gaiam products in stores by the family appearance of the boxes. I have sent a number of Gaiam photos and you can see the consistency of the brand/family look in the photos. Also the professional look of all the products on the shelves in the store. This is very important for the retailers. I like the large photo of the model on the front of the box and how the box also displays what is included in the package.

The 2025-26 Mackenzie-Stuart Lecture was delivered by Professor Anand Menon, Director, UK in a Changing Europe, on the title 'Reflections on the Brexit Revolution' on 3 November 2025.
Anand Menon is Director of the UK in a Changing Europe and Professor of European Politics and Foreign Affairs at King’s College London. He has written widely on many aspects of EU politics and policy and on UK-EU relations. He is a frequent contributor to the media on matters relating to British relations with the EU.
Abstract: The outcome of the Brexit referendum was driven by many forces, including increasing frustration at an economic and political model that seemed to be failing far too many people. And the vote to Leave in fact provided a unique opportunity for this discontent to be addressed. The fact that it was not has merely contributed to the growing appeal of populism. And along the way, many of the things we took for granted about our country and the way it is governed have been challenged.
