United We Dream - Dreamers make presence known by studying-in over lunch at the Dirksen Senate Cafeteria
A study of South Western Railway's class 455/8 EMU 5852 and class 455/7 EMU 5750 seen alongside the iconic 1939 Southern Railway 'Chisarc' platform canopies in platform 1 at Chessington North station on the course of their 2M38 South Western Railway suburban service from Chessington South to Tolworth, Malden Manor, Motspur Park, Raynes Park, Wimbledon, Earlsfield, Clapham Junction, Vauxhall and London Waterloo on the fine early afternoon of Tuesday 23rd September 2025. When the original line from Motspur Park to Leatherhead via Tolworth and Chessington was in the course of being built by the Southern Railway in 1938 Chessington North station was originally proposed to be called 'Chessington Court', with Chessington South station down the line originally proposed to be called 'Chessington Grange'.
In a recent US study it was found that less than 23% of U.S. adults aged 18–64 met guidelines for both aerobic and muscle-strengthening activities.
These findings are of concern because regular participation in physical activity lowers the risk of many chronic conditions, disability, and mortality.
What are these guideline recommendations?
Specifically, adults should perform at least 150 minutes per week of moderate physical activity, or 75 minutes per week of vigorous physical activity, in addition to muscle-strengthening activities 2 or more days per week

I let the kids put stuffed animals on their desks so long as they behave. We must have a million in the room. This kid was so sweet..he read a book to his study buddy during silent reading time. Showed the moose the pictures in the book and everything. It was just too cute!
There are definate advantages to teaching at the same school for an extended period of time. I've taught members of his family since I started teaching at this school...aunts, cousins, siblings...kinda cool.
Along the same lines, when I went out for a cigarette at lunch, a former student came over to tell me he was out of jail. Bright kid, seriously misguided. He told me he took the chance to go to boot camp instead of jail for part of the time and thinks he's learned his lesson. He plans to get his GED and a job. I hope he does. It would be such a waste if he didn't. I told him I didn't want to read about him in the paper unless he was CEO of a Fortune 500 company. He smiled and said "Ok, Ms. O'Shea....I'll try". Here's hoping!
In the study there is some old electronic stuff and also a PowerMac G3 sharing a switched monitor with a PC.
