Here's something a bit different. I don't usually do flower studies (apart from occasional wild flowers). However my wife had been given a bouquet and I was at a loose end, so here is a closeup of one of the flowers. I have no idea what it is but the colours are attractive.

The penultimate amendment to the reconstruction drawing I am working on of part of the Lowestoft sea front, c1840. The shod, or fisherman's store, looks more convincing after drawing the study which was based on new reference material. I was able to enlarge a photo, attached to an email, on my mobile phone, which is shown in my previous post.
An old picture from, I think, when I was studying for my oral exams. The life of a grad student certainly is glamorous.
Experimenting with putting floral dye in water to turn the flowers different colors. It's interesting to see the veins on the flowers and where the dye goes. This is a snapdragon dyed blue. Looks like a brain...

The funny thing is I caught this girl in a few other pics while I was photographing around the podium that day. I would have benefitted from a nice strong flash to nuke the shadows off her. Oh well. There's always room for improvement. Not to mention, I get so nervous whenever I take someone's picture on campus anyway...
Old eroded blue iceberg against a cloudy blue sky provides some visually interesting textures. The iceberg became grounded in Cuckold Cove near Trinity, Newfoundland on its journey down Iceberg Alley from Baffin Bay on the west coast of Greenland.

Wind, waves , and chilly temperatures have created an icy approach to the lighthouse in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. The pier is closed until further notice.
While 536' is the actual height of the US Bancorp Tower aka The Big Pink there are many factors other than distance that affect how tall it appears in a photograph. From left to right in the sequence above the camera moves closer to the building, but its apparent height changes due to focal length, perspective, and proximity to foreground objects.
