Studio lights:
-one godox sk400 reflector (triggered flash cca 1/64) held from hand, pointed upwards on an improvised reflective white roof, just above the model with red gel, purposely casting a little red light on a backdrop bottom part
-one godox sk400 reflector (triggered flash cca 1/32) with an umbrella pointed at the model 45° behind (my left)
-one big hidroisolation foam held right at the right of model
-one black neger held between the first reflector red light and the model, to stop the cast on model.
-white matte backdrop

Eigentlich wollte ich nur ein paar Testfotos mit meinem neuen selbstgebauten Studioequipment machen, dann gefiel mir das Bild aber doch gut genug, um es mal zu bearbeiten. Weitere folgen die Tage.

"If you want to be a Millionaire, start with a billion dollars and launch a new airline." Richard Branson
Got this delivered yesterday. Wanted one since Lufthansa put them in their in-flight catalogue 12 years or so ago but I was to stingy to pay €1300. E-bay helped - 1998 Singapore built Atlas norm full size trolley for €199 and no BS refurbished one either :))
Built by Diethelm Keller Industries - coincidentally their parent company is my distributor in SEA, Taiwan, USA and China - the world is small :)
The plan is to use this as my studio lap-top stand / camera table / tether station. We shall see - maybe I'll just serve drinks for guest around the house. If nothing else it makes the restless traveller feel at home ;)
Also...I need at least one more or two.....

I always fail to see the little things in front of me,
The things that mean so much to you,
A way to let you know
That I appreciate the way you always tolerate,
But sometimes when I medicate,
Frustration in you shows me how you feel.

These pochade boxes are for carrying around small oil paintings. The oil pannel fits into the top, paints/equipment go in the bottom, and a pallet slides across the top to stop everything falling out. Really good for painting outdoors with.
I was in the office doing work until late, thought of sharing an image of my office with my firends...... I spend a lot of hours in this office, creating, designing, programming, clicking, testing......thinking.....;-)
Thank you for visiting,
The goal is to celebrate tools. These are some of the tools I use in my everyday work to show what are the real tools I use everyday: Light and Shadow.
WIT: After a family portrait shoot, I cleared out the studio of extraneous stuff and sat down on the tile floor. I looked around, but had no inspiration. My hope was to demonstrate light and shadow, since that is what photography is made from. I pulled out two light domes, played with the arrangement infront of a 3200wps White LIghting strobe and softbox.

Other than cropping, this is straight out of the camera.
Oh yes, we're really rocking things here at Garage Studios.
In fact if you look in this months Digital Photographer magazine, you'll see a two page spread about our studio.
Outdoorshot at Karlsruhe (germany), cuted out and pasted in front of a digital backdrop.
The gear behind the little batch of studio photos I just uploaded. I get requests asking how/what was used to light my shots. All the rest of the camera gear was sitting on my dining room table.
...that's a Donkey Kong Arcade game in the background... I have a couple of games around the house.
For all those who do not know me.
Sometimes, for a good shot you need to take all your #PhotoStudio equipment with you :)
The YN 560 Speedlite mounted on a Cactus v4 reciever, box, velvet storage bag, manual and a Cactus v4 trigger.

I forgot to show the zoom, but they are to use as well.
So far I am very happy with the purchase and I would not hesitate to buy one if you needed a manual flash.
I bought it on ebay here: cgi.ebay.co.uk/YN-560-YN560-Flash-Speedlight-in-UK-EU-Zon...
Its possible to find them cheaper, but I know this guy pays extra to have them all controlled before sent to GB and he test them himself again so the risk of getting the dreaded DoA specimens should be reduced...

Kitchen light was on and a FL-50R on camera in TTL mode bounced to the ceiling.
I was forced to the confines of the house today and decided to kill time by making fun of stereotypes and wasting a lot of refrigerated produce. 8 eggs, a handful of permanent markers, and a couple studio lights later and we can all celebrate with completely legal porn - and hopefully at least some amount of humour.
Had such fun today in this studio shoot with my group today at London College of Fashion Theme of White
