This is the door to BetaCMS world.
Write your user name and password, choose the Repository and the Language you prefer to work with.
If you do not have an account yet you may create one using the registration form.
BetaCMS supports multiple content repositories. The home page shows the recently published content in all hosted repositories and offers a "Google-like" search on all published content.
To manage or see not published content you may login using the top "Login | Register" expandable bar.
Here you can see an example of the content set "Objects Recently Added or Modified by Me" as displayed after the expansion of the floating homonym bar.
The floating bars are movable thus one might arrange them accordingly in the main panel window by dragging and dropping at the preferred spot or in the preferred order.
Besides Dublin Core Metadata which are shared by all object types, the "Movie" object has a big set of properties specific to the "Movie" Object type. In the depicted sample form the complex properties of "Crew Members" and "Actors/Actresses" are shown. Complex properties are those that contain internal properties which in turn may contain more internal properties and so on. BetaCMS is very good at handling very complicated forms with nested properties.
If you wonder how all these properties are defined for the "Movie" Object type then the answer is that all you need is an XML schema that describes the name and the type of each property. The rest is automatically handled by BetaCMS.
To explain how the complex property "Crew Members" works we would say, that if you click on a certain "Crew member" name in the blue label you will jump into a subform with a subset of properties. Lets see that in the next image.
Going to the Tab "Personal Workspace" you will find all Objects created by you. This space works for you as the place where you organize all the content you have created in BetaCMS. Your personal workspace operates like a File system or your folder system in any other environment you have already worked with.
You can create new folders and folders within folders in order to organize your content independently of what is presupposed by your organization or the system. Here is your personal space and you can arrange folders in a way that facilitates your job the most.
You can even share folders with the ones (registered users) you choose to do so.
Use a Taxonomy as a controlled vocabulary for a list of terms used to categorize your data. You can also build an hierarchical (tree like) Taxonomy for more complex classifications or Import an existing XML Taxonomy.
You can also use the Taxonomies Topics to navigate through your structured content while acquiring a quantitative overview of your data. e.g. how many people are characterized as actors in your repository.
This screen is what you see as soon as you "Log In" to the BetaCMS. There is a standard toolbar at the top of your page with 3 basic choices:
Add New... | Advanced Search | Clipboard
Below the standard toolbar you can see the Tabs:
Dashboard | Personal Workspace
The default display is on Tab "Dashboard" which sums up all recent work processes according to your recent actions and content statistics:
- Newly created or modified Objects
- Objects in Publication process and
- Statistical overview of visited pages
On the left window edge there is a small gray rectangular area that expands to a menu panel on click. This practical left panel is used to help you in content management, navigation and use of Taxonomies. We will get back to it later in our images.
What you see here is a form of the Object Type "Movie". Just take a look at how a Movie is described with the set of the Dublin Core Metadata standard.
The forms are automatically created by the Astroboa framework without writing a line of code. You only need to define a new Object Type according to the Astroboa open content model and the form will be automatically generated.
The main menu Toolbar provides the following operations:
Add New...| Advanced Search | Clipboard
If you wish to populate a form of an existing Object Type (eg. article, movie, person) you click on the "Select Type" or the "Object Type List".
In order to add a new Object Type you select "OBJECT TYPE" and an XML editor window opens up for you to build the new Type.
Through the same menu you can add a new TAXONOMY or a PERSONAL TAG you want to assign to an object.
On the left side of your window there is a panel with a set of operations that help in content management, content navigation and classification.
Lets go through some of them in the following images.
Each and every property of the form displays its own information sign (i) providing "Help" adjusted to your preferred language. This info functionality is automatically generated from the object definition in the XML schema.

What you see here is a "Cinema Person" (another Object type) and her/his activities in the specific movie.
The activities are captured by the property "Feature" which accepts multiple values from a Taxonomy.
In our example "Sitaru Adrian" was the Director, the Script Writer, the Editor and the Executive Producer.

Navigate easily through your content while gaining a quick quantitative overview of your records by using the "Objects in Time" left panel component.
Click on the Object of interest (e.g. "Movie") and you can see how many objects of that type have already been created and when. Just select the one you wish to look further into and it is instantly displayed in the main console window.
If you want to edit the specific object, you may click on the Title: e.g. "Boogie" which opens in a form on the Editor tab.
While you are in the process of editing an object, BetaCMS saves it automatically in the Clipboard every now and then in order to avoid any kind of information loss due to sleazy factors.
Furthermore, if you haven't completed your record you can always 'Create a Draft Object in Clipboard'. So, next time you have more to add on the content and complete the record you can easily get back to it from the 'Clipboard'.
From the displayed Object Types you can pick the one you wish to fill in content: e.g. Movie.
Some of the Object Types are offered ready-made with BetaCMS e.g. Person, Event, Geographical location, Web page e.t.c.

The forms are automatically created by BetaCMS without writing a line of code. You only need to define a new Object Type and BetaCMS will create the relevant form.
BetaCMS provides you with facilities for creating a website and its hierarchical structure of web pages. You can create templates to attach to pages and also store CSS and javascript files inside the repository.
