Photograph of a smokestack built for the Magnolia Petroleum Company. The unit was built and installed by Alcorn Combustion Company out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, using materials provided by John Dollinger Jr., Inc. The photograph shows the stack laid on a flatbed train for transportation to final location. Two men are at the bottom right adjusting valves at the end of the rail car. The train has stopped within a railroad crossing and two automobiles are waiting to the right. Houses and buildings are in the background.

What a marvellous work in board and pen line! Showing the 'old' days of steel frame construction when health and safety was less of a rigorous concern this bold graphic certainly gives an excellent impression of such demanding and danerous work.
This is another in a series of similar adverts issued by the company in the mid-20th century and who had addresses in London, Manchester & Birmingham. I'm inclined to think that Trafford Park was the centre of the company's works.
They've stripped this bridge down to the basics...I found it's curves and lines visually intriguing in the evening light

This is a cable-stayed bridge which is a landmark in Putrajaya. Being the main link between Presint 2 at the Core Island and the residential area of Presint 8, the Seri Wawasan is an important link to the Mixed Development Presint. Categorized as a 'signature bridge' the Seri Wawasan is also an important utility link between Presint 8 and the Core Island.
Bridge Structure:
The concrete bridge is a combination of cable backstays and structural steel tie back. It is a dual three lane carriageways of total 18.6m width each comprising 3 x 3.5m width lanes, 0.5 hard shoulder, 0.5m marginal strip. The median is 4m wide and walkway cum cycle track width is 5.1m giving a total width of 37.2m at the centre of the bridge.

Visitors can explore multiple levels, climb through unexpected spaces, and ascend to The Apartment, Cloud Buster’s highest destination that’s designed to resemble a Chicago apartment, complete with Chicago-themed artwork and posters.
There are no 2 Cloud Buster climbs. Every nook and cranny provide a different thrill.

We thought this was the view from a railway signal box at a Church Road in Roscommon, and as there are quite a few Church Roads in County Roscommon, we asked for help. Apparently, ask and you shall receive because it turns out this was Church Road Junction, but not in Roscommon at all!
Flying Snail pinpointed the location exactly:
"That's Church Road Jct in Dublin, down in the North Wall yards area. The view is looking west, with the bridge of the Dublin-Belfast line on the horizon. As the signal on one of the gantries is in the 'off' position, the loco is coming towards O'Dea presumably to shunt or take out of a goods train. The Brennan's shop is now an ordinary residence."
And Eagle Eye eyelightfilms spotted the sign on the horizon for Smith & Pearson, Structural steel, engineers and iron works, Newcomen Works, Ossory Road, Dublin 3.

Puente de Luz (Bridge of Light) is a 125 metre pedestrian footbridge connecting Front Street to the CityPlace neighbourhood. The bridge by Chilean sculptor Francisco Gazitua opened in October 2012 and crosses Toronto’s busy downtown railway corridor--the Railway Lands.

April 2013, the demolition of St. Marys Paper mill continues. Most of the production buildings have been razed. Salvage and recycling of the building materials continues. The historic sandstone buildings will be saved and redeveloped. October 2012, demolition is progressing. The historic sandstone buildings appear to have been spared- - -these date back to the 1890's.
August 2012, demolition has begun on the non historic buildings / structures. It appears that the 'historic' original sandstone buildings will be spared for future redevelopment.
June 2012, the paper mill has been sold, assets will be liquidated, and the mill site will be redeveloped, for other uses, some buildings will be razed. After nearly one hundred years of operation under various names, Lake Superior Paper Company, Abitibi Power and Paper Company, St. Marys Paper Inc., the paper mill is no more.
St. Marys Paper forced Into receivership as of December 30, 2011.

Abandoned and rusting steel-lattice hydro towers carried high-tension lines to now-demolished coal-fed Lakeview Generating Station. Discharge stacks are part of Lakeview Water Treatment Facility.

The picture was taken from sample of an ancient bridge in Brazil dating from the 1860’s. Its structure is made in puddle iron, an historical structural material. It dates from the end of the 18th century and it was produced until the early 20th century. It represented a technological advance over cast iron. This material supplied the growing demand during the industrial revolution in England as it had a reduced production cost. On its manufacturing process, highly qualified workers called puddlers would try and remove the slag off the melting metal manually with the help of long shovels. This well paid job would lead them to an early death at an average age of 40 years old. Despite their effort, the resulting product still contained a considerable amount of slag, as we can see in the image. Many famous structures were built using this material such as the Eiffel tower and several bridges and railways across Europe.
Study conducted by the researchers: Juan Manuel Pardal (Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering) and Yuri Sande Renni (Mechanical Engineering Graduation Student) - from Universidade Federal Fluminense, Laboratório de Metalografia e Tratamentos Térmicos (LABMETT) - Niterói – Brazil.

A page from a substantial book illustrating the steel work and other engineering contracts carried out by the West Bromwich based Braithwaites. Founded in 1884 as Braithwaite & Kirk the company prospered mainly due to a healthy export business in the 'colonies' as well as in the home market and indeed in 1913 they opened an Indian branch as well as later acquiring additional works in Newport, Monmouthshire.
This image shows the first phase of what was to become a monumental building in Liverpool, the Exchange Building designed by architects Gunton & Gunton and situated on Chapel St. The now Listed building was not completed until well after the Second World War but the early phases are famous in that they contain the deep level command bunker that housed control of the Western Approaches during the conflict. This section was constructed and completed between 1937 and 1939. The building is classical in approach and shows the constructional technique of a substantial steel girder frame cloaked in stone.
