Charlie Zhang is a Ph.D. student in the research group of Professor Tara Hutchinson in the UC San Diego Department of Structural Engineering. He is one of the researchers who will analyze the data from the earthquake tests to determine the building's performance.

The structure of the 10-story building is made from cold-formed steel, a material that is easy to manufacture and made of 60% to 70% recycled steel.

Wandering along La Seine river in Normandie, France I have crossed paths with this big guy standing here. His impressive skeleton cannot remain unnoticed, so I couldn’t get past it without giving him a proper shot. So here I am, sharing my favourite picture of that massive steel bridge.

The designs of top Soviet architects for the capital’s future reveal their visionary aspirations. Palace of the Soviets was designed as the ultimate expression of Soviet dominance. Topped with a 100-metre-high statue of Lenin, the project was set to surpass the @empirestatebuildingnyc height. Construction started in 1937 but was terminated owing to the 🇩🇪German invasion in 1941
