I'm back.. from touring my tired behind all over China.
Here is a snippet of a huge piece done by a famous calligrapher. It's a perfect example of why I love this art form so much- every time I see a piece I imagine the artist writing it and it's just so unexplainably beautiful. I can spend hours in a gallery just spacing out, staring at this stuff.
Expect tons more crap gathered from the corners of China very shortly. whee

Here the strings have been installed and tensioned; now the snare strings just have to be "tuned". This involves adjusting the tensions and strategically placing adhesive tape over the strings so as to prevent resonant buzzes while still allowing for a good snare sound.
