There are few musical instruments more photogenic than the guitar. From the beautiful wooden tones and grain, to the ornate fretting, and the wonderful contrast of flowing curves and straight lines each is a work of art. So naturally, I reached for the ol' six string for this week's #Macromonday submission for the theme #string.
I usually try to make the flower behind the water drops out of focus, but I kind of like how this string of drops follows the slightly in-focus petal.
String, also known as sewing thread. This colour spool of thread I've used for top stitching a quilt. I quite like how it comes across as yarn rather than thread. This is an in-camera stacked image as I wanted all in focus and knew that it wouldn't be because of the curve of the spool.
I've bought a couple of point and shoot cameras for my wife over the last thirty years and they come with a lanyard that attaches to the camera with a loop of nylon string like this.
I used a Canon FD 50mm macro with mounted on an adapter and a one to one extension tube.
Thank you for any faves and comments whether pro or con.

We tried to do the String Lake Trail here in the Grand Tetons today but were foiled by snow and flooding, however I took this shot before we turned back
This string X-block uses scraps from my stash along with both white and charcoal Kona fabrics. The block idea was one I got from a quilter in my Nittany Block Party bee, Sherri Vanzuidam
The quilt will be donated to New Hope Homes, a Rwanda orphanage.

String of pearls (Senecio rowleyanus, sometimes sold as Curio rowleyanus) is a sought-after hanging succulent house plant. Its trailing stems have pea-like leaves that look like beads – hence its common name. In spring, the plant may produce small white, cinnamon-scented flowers.
In the wild, in west Africa, string of pearls sprawls over gravelly, rocky terrain. In the home, it looks lovely hanging from a shelf or planter – it's fast growing and the tendrils can reach 1m long. It's a good choice for beginner or lazy indoor gardeners – the 'beads' store water, so the plant can cope with a bit of neglect and only needs watering every couple of weeks.
All parts of the plant are mildly toxic if ingested, so keep away from children and pets.
finally got some developer so I can start back with paper negatives and for once the inital exposure was right ( about one second )and focus where I wanted it...this barrel lens is hard to work with but I got the desired effect
After spending a small fortune on guitar lessons, my daughter has not touched this thing in ages. Figured I'd put it to good use. fineartamerica.com/profiles/1-jason-jacobs.html
Found these two exceptionally shaped potatoes yesterday at my greengrocers. Here an attempt of a photographical presentation, more to follow.

An exercise in simple madness. Like all the diverse individuals on this lovely planet. It is great that we are all so different and yet all on the same ball of string.
I never quite understood the reverse lever contraption of tuners. For Marcro Monday I thought it'd be interesting to pull in the texture of the copper strings with the stainless steel of Xanthe's guitar tuners. It also happened to be lying around the office and was a good subject for the day. :) #HMM
