Strengthening supercell south of Tucumcari, NM—May 24, 2023. This was such a cool scene. The blues & neutrals higher up contrasted beautifully with the warm tones in that wall cloud/RFD shelf. Just the right kind of light slipping underneath to catch those vertical edges.

Europe strengthened its connection to space on Wednesday 27 January, as NASA astronauts Mike Hopkins (white suit with red stripes) and Victor Glover (plain white suit) installed the Columbus KA-band antenna (ColKa) outside ESA’s Columbus laboratory on the International Space Station.
This antenna will create an additional bi-directional KA-band data transmission for the Space Station, providing a direct link between the Columbus laboratory and Europe, for researchers and astronauts, at home broadband speeds.
Victor transported the fridge-sized unit from the airlock to the worksite on the Canadarm2 robotic arm, with assistance from NASA astronaut Kate Rubins and JAXA astronaut Soichi Noguchi inside the Station. There, he and Mike set to work unscrewing and screwing bolts to hold the antenna in place and routing cables for power and data, guided by the voice of ESA astronaut Andreas Mogensen from NASA’s mission control centre in Houston.
Mike and Victor also connected power cables for external commercial research platform Bartolomeo, located outside Columbus. This connection will be continued during a future spacewalk.

The Guildford Council Chambers were reconstructed from a 1900s building. Parts of the wall and stable still stand. An air raid shelter was created by strengthening one room, during World War II. This area remains today and is currently used as the 'strong room'. It has a lowered cement ceiling, cement floor and double brick walls.
Guildford Town Hall and Library, incorporating the Guildford Town Hall, a brick, rendered brick and tile building constructed in 1937 in the Inter-War Art Deco style, and the Guildford Library (former Council Chambers) a brick, rendered brick and zincalume-roofed building built in 1900 and remodelled in 1937 to complement the Town Hall, has cultural heritage significance for the following reasons: The place contains particularly well resolved examples of civic buildings designed or remodelled in the Inter-War Art Deco style. The Guildford Town Hall is a fine example of a town hall designed in this style in the 1930s in Western Australia; The place is a significant example of the work of Eales, Cohen and Fitzhardinge Architects, and in particular of John Fitzhardinge who is credited with the Interwar design and redesign of the two buildings; The place is a visual landmark in its prominent location in the centre of the historic Town of Guildford; The place is representative of the development of local government in the City of Swan region and incorporates civic buildings which represent the growth of local government in the early and mid twentieth century in the State generally. The place forms an integral component of community life in the local government area; and, The car park has the potential through archaeological excavation to provide information on the former convict depot use of the site. The more recent southern end of the outbuilding, eastern entry and covered walkway to the Library, kitchen and other recent fittings to the Town Hall and electrical fittings to the Library are of little cultural heritage significance. The brick wall in the female toilets of the Town Hall and lobby inside the original northern entrance of the Library are intrusive. Plantings of little or no significance are noted in the Conservation Plan.

TBM-3E Avenger operated by the Wings of the North Museum located in Eden Prairie, MN departing the Illinois Valley Regional Airport in Peru, IL during a break in the weather on Saturday, May 15th. This particular Avenger was assembled by Eastern Division of General Motors, Trenton, NJ, as part of the – second production batch of TBM-3’s, Bu53050 to Bu53949, to Contract Number 48 after December 1944. Built as a TBM-3E with AN/APS-4 search radar under the starboard wing, strengthened air frame, R-2600-20 of 1900 hp, and provision for drop tanks or rockets underwing. 4657 TBM’s were built under license by Eastern. Production ended in September 1945

After the early 70's the SOO assigned a geep to the transfer between the twin Sault Ste. Marie's. I've strengthened the spine and rear section so that it's a lot more solid now. If I remove the runabout and rear cargo section, I can flip it over and start working on the twin cockpits and landing gear. It's quite heavy to hold in one hand but it does swoosh ok. It's kinda too big to swoosh.
I have another pair of blue canopies that I could invert and mirror the top section. One issue will be to cover that damn dbg 6x12 plate...I could replace it with a nice lbg one...after I tear up most of the top arrow area...So covering it up it is!

The province of Nan is located in the north of Thailand and borders Laos. It is one of the lesser known provinces of Thailand, but is known for its natural beauty. Rice planting is one important agricultural activity in Thailand and it is part of the country's culture and traditions. The rice planting process in Thailand starts with preparing the soil. The farmers plow the soil to loosen it and provide it with nutrients. Then the rice seeds are planted in separate beds. After the seeds have germinated, the young rice plants are planted on the rice fields. These rice fields are usually arranged in terraces to better manage the water and ensure even irrigation. Planting rice is usually done manually, where the farmers manually put the rice plant into the ground. After planting, the fields are usually immersed in water to protect the rice plants from weeds and pests. After about 4 to 6 months, the rice is fully grown and ready to be harvested. After harvesting, the rice grains are washed and dried before being stored or sold at the market. Rice is an important source of food in Thailand and is used in many dishes from curries to fried rice dishes.
Planting rice together is an important tradition in Thailand and often seen as a social activity. This process is called "กฤษณา หรือ งานกฤษณา" in Thai and is usually performed between May and July, during the rainy season. When planting rice together, the local communities come together to plant rice together. This is not only a way to complete the rice harvest, but also an opportunity to strengthen social bonds within the community. The process of planting rice together usually starts with choosing a suitable location and preparing the soil. Then the rice is planted in separate beds. The young rice plants are then planted in the rice fields by the community participants, who usually work in rows. During the rice planting, participants are entertained with music and singing, and food and drink are often shared. This creates a festive atmosphere and contributes to strengthening community ties. After the harvest, the rice is then distributed among the community participants according to the amount of work they have contributed to the process. It is an important tradition that is still carried on in many parts of Thailand.

De rijst wordt dan opgeslagen of verkocht op de markt. Rijst is een belangrijke bron van voedsel in Thailand en wordt gebruikt in veel gerechten, van curry's tot gebakken rijstgerechten.
