Rue de Paris - 17th and 18th century.

One of the Travers le temps sections. Vintage shops, facades and decorations constructed just like how it was in the early beginning of modern-day Paris. Nice vintage posters decorate the walls, the few streetlights illuminate the scene. Even the train accident at the Montparnasse trainstation can be seen.

Edward VIII (Edward Albert Christian George Andrew Patrick David; later The Duke of Windsor; 23 June 1894 – 28 May 1972) was King of the United Kingdom and the British dominions, and Emperor of India from 20 January 1936, following the death of his father, George V, until his abdication on 11 December 1936.

The City of Paris provided the Duke with a house at 4 rue du Champ d'Entraînement, on the Neuilly-sur-Seine side of the Bois de Boulogne, for a nominal rent

On 28 May 1972 the Duke, who was a smoker from an early age, died at his home in Paris from throat cancer.

The Parisian sky is a canvas of endless charm and ever-changing beauty. At dawn, it blushes with hues of soft pink and gold, casting a gentle light on the city’s historic architecture. As the day progresses, the sky often turns a vibrant blue, highlighting iconic landmarks like the Eiffel Tower against its backdrop. Come dusk, it transforms into a spectacular display of oranges and purples, with the lights of Paris beginning to twinkle below. Whether it’s a clear day or one dotted with dramatic clouds, the sky over Paris never fails to inspire and captivate those who gaze upon it.

The Place Louis Aragon is a small square (actually a triangle) at the western tip of the Ile St. Louis in Paris.

It is named for the French writer Louis Aragon (1897- 1982) whose novel Aurelian was set in the apartment block of that name which overlooks the square.

Aragon was one of the most significant intellectual figures in C20 France. He was a founding member of the surrealist movement and a long term member of the French Communist Party several of whose publications he edited. He served in both world wars and was an active member of the Resistance.

This Place was named for him on 27th March 2012 - the 30th anniversary of his death.

The full translation of his words on the sign is:

"Do you know the island

The heart of the city

Where all is quiet

Eternally"

We found this car parked on the streets in Paris, beautifully cared for, on the back seat were several luxurious fluffy cushions and blankets.

Andre Citroen founded the car company in 1919 and shocked the world in 1934 with the innovative Traction Avant, the world's first mass-production front wheel drive car.

The Traction Avant was available 1934-1957. The novel design made the car seem very low-slung relative to its contemporaries — the Traction Avant always possessed a unique look, which went from appearing rakish in 1934 to familiar and somewhat old fashioned by 1955
