This place claimed to be the birthplace of NASCAR. I'm not sure if they meant Daytona Beach in general, or this hotel specifically... but either way, it looked genuinely old enough and cool enough to fit the bill. Not that I'm a NASCAR fan. But hey, local history is neat no matter the flavor.
