Saw this hotel in Daytona Beach and thought it was really striking. Afterwards, I looked it up and discovered that it’s been thoroughly renovated and that it is the place where NASCAR was created. Nice to see old places taken care of. Graflex RB Super D, Agfa APX-100 (expired) shot at EI 50, Rodinal 1:50.

The future of racing looks a lot like the past. This monocoque body houses a gasoline engine, which in turn powers an electric generator which powers the floating wheels. A series of magnetic pulses force the wheel rings to turn. The result is a modern, smooth racing experience with an aesthetic that hearkens back to the early days of auto racing.
A line up of Streamlined locomotives pose in the afternoon sun at Goulburn Roundhouse for a swam of Rail Photographers.
Having experienced better days in passenger service, C&NW 1584 is now relegated to branchline service. A semaphore in the vertical position does little to speed the progress on a line plagued with slow orders and an (as yet unknown) impending death sentence. (A Wisconsin spring with a lack of good skies have kept this GP7 out of the limelight for now. Lawn chairs are a combination of brass rod and 1/8" ribbon).
Matching streamliners, GM10 and GM22, found their way to QLD today hauling the NK81 ARTC Track Inspection Cars. It was photographed here at Tamrookum as it made its way to Greenbank.

Having left Denver earlier in the day, Santa Fe 191 paused at Rio Grande's Colorado Springs depot on its run south to La Junta. The pint sized train consists of E8Am 81 (a regular staple of the run in the late 1960s), Baggage 3939 and a 28xx series Coach. Of note is 3939. The trucks the car is riding on are unique among Santa Fe passenger equipment. It was the only car in the fleet equipped with LFM/Rockwell lightweight trucks. Being a one-off, Santa Fe must not have been impressed enough to convert other cars. That said, they must have been satisfactory enough as the car rode on them for about five years. They would not be replaced until 1973/1974, by which time the car was in Amtrak ownership.

Three variations of liveries carried in NSW by the 421 and 42 class locomotives represent at the Goulburn Streamliners event at Goulburn on 1-10-22. 42105 has been recently preserved into the Northern Rivers Railroad scheme which it wore from the mid 1990's and into its QR National days before being stored in 2014
4201 wears the NSWGR 125th Anniversary livery, while 4204 wears the original NSWGR Indian Red scheme
E9 9920 and BN3 were in storage at the then-bustling West Burlington Shops in 1995. The 9920 was supposed to become BN4 in the Executive Fleet, but the upcoming merger with the Santa Fe put that project on hold. The new BNSF Railway soon closed the shops making West Burlington a ghost-town.
In addition, BNSF management decided to not use the classic motors for their business train and operates any passenger specials with everyday freight motors.
BN3 was donated to the Illinois Railway Museum and today operates in that same paint scheme, which is fading, but plans are in the works for a repaint sometime in the future.
The 9920 was donated to the town of Keller, Texas and was repainted into a ridiculous version of Burlington silver with BNSF logos and looks just sad.
At least it was "preserved".

On the same day as Streamliners in Spencer I hosted my own gathering of streamlined locos on my garden railroad.
Car door handle taken for Macro Mondays theme 'Handle'.
Not too sure about this one but it does have shape and form and possibly a bit of movement to it or am I just talking rubbish 😃
