Experimenting with Orton processing. Here's another version of the stream. As always, comments are most welcome.

A stream in the Hoh Rainforest, Washington

Fall 2007

 

New Jersey's Hacklebarney State Park is 892 acres of glacial valley, with gorges carved by the Black River and two tributaries that feed it, the Rinehart and Trout Brooks.

 

It was also featured in an episode of The Sopranos.

A little streambed

Taken below Treasure Falls in Wolf Creek Pass.

James at the point where the South Edisto bifurcates, with the two branches forming a more or less bilobed island. Beyond James, the southward branch, which features an area of rapids. This photo (where I am) is taken from the eastern (=northern) branch. There are also a number of artificial stone/concrete channel diverters (?) below the water. A treacherous place, actually.

I think shots like this they make the place look so natural and tranquil which is what I love about photography however just down stream from where I was there was a huge concrete wall, a sewage outlet pipe and not the most of luxurious campsites but because you can't see it you would never think so. It just shows there is still parts of the earth which haven't been humanised.

merging 3 different exposures and a little bit tone mapping with Photomatix, then enhancing tone mapping with Artizen HDR, at last I am using Photoshop CS3
