The Let’s Lead: Strategies for Getting Your Career to the Next Level event was held on Monday, 2 February at the Seoul Global Centre, bringing together over 50 participants for a highly successful and engaging morning dedicated to advancing women’s leadership and career progression. The event was co-hosted by the Embassy of Ireland and UN Women, in collaboration with the British Chamber of Commerce in Korea and The Gallery Seoul. MCed by Lucinda Walker, CEO of the BCCK, the session opened with welcoming remarks from Ambassador Michelle Winthrop and Yun Jeong Hwang, UN Women Knowledge & Partnerships Centre Director. The programme was followed by a keynote presentation by Andrea Dermody, Programme Director of Balance for Better Business (B4BB), who shared key findings and insights from over a decade of research into gender equality and women’s career progression in the Irish private sector, drawing out practical insights relevant to the Korean context. An interactive exercise and short coffee break encouraged networking and peer exchange, before an engaging panel discussion featuring Ambassador Winthrop, Andrea Dermody, and Ahjung Lee. The morning concluded with an energetic Q&A session, marked by active engagement from attendees. The strong participation and active dialogue throughout the session underscored the event’s impact in empowering women professionals and fostering connections.
