Finally a Amy Sedaris minifig!

First Naboo Starfighter I’ve build in, what, 23 years? LEGO has stepped up the experience. A very sleek build that is larger in hand then I expected.
Positives: minifigs- we finally get a Brown Eyes Pascal head. Build is not completely symmetrical, cool technique used in the engines. Storage space is sufficient on this thin ship. Swooshes. Good projectile integration.
Not as positives: gaps at the canopy. No extra hair element for Mando (I added one for the shoot). Price… The yellow coloring to homage the original ship looks a little off to me.
All in all very cool set, larger than I expected, and a nice building experience

82: Elliot checking out his recipe (Elliot's Cilantro Treats) in Amy Sedaris' new book, Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People. It comes out November 2, but Amy had her publisher go ahead and send us a copy hot off the press! Elliot was very excited to see his recipe for cilantro treats included in the Hay Burners chapter.
This is my absolute favorite face that she does. I meant to ask her to do that face for a photo the last few times I saw her, but I forgot every single time. This time I finally remembered!
They spent much of the time pestering Amy for snacks, even when she didn't have any more. They basically trolled for snacks non-stop right up until she left on Saturday morning.

she is so fucking genius I can't stand it. She was at this same event last year and I admire her so much I couldn't go near her. I love her book "I like you." She also makes these awesome fake frosted cakes made out of fucking plaster, that's what I wanted, but she didn't have any there!!!! godammit!
She is such a great um, well, the stuff she does is kindof hard to categorize for me. It's like she is commenting on these womens' things, but in such a great real and truly humorously way, I - I love everything she does. And the way she does it! She just is so right on motherfucker. haha.

Also, if you've ever watched the movie "Strangers with Candy" there is this love interest of hers named Brason - anyway I asked her did they make that name up, because it's SO perfect for some dumb bogus jock... soooo white and manly and shit... you can sooo just imagine some white twatty couple naming their kid that - I thought it was just great hearing Jerri Blank say that name all the time in the movie all in love with him. She said Paul (Dinello) just came up with it at one point. She is so cool and works with such cool people. Ooooh, I bet they all have so much fun. The Jerri Blank character is the best female comic character ever. hahahha EVER! Amy just goes way past any other female comedian, way way past anyone else in such a fantastically hilarious way. So gross hahaha. I love her views on unattractive people. And brunch, even though I don't agree!
98: I was out all day yesterday and didn't have my camera with me. By the time I got home last night, I was really tired and just didn't feel like putting much effort into my photo of the day. So, here. You get a chest of bonnets. Haha! This is actually one of my favorite things in Amy Sedaris' new book (Simple Times). It makes me laugh every time I see it. But anyway, yesterday (or, well, day 98 of 365) was my food prep II practical (final) exam. A few days ago, it was really questionable if I'd even pass because I was having so much trouble cutting up a chicken the right way. I mean, sure, I could chop it up into 8 discernible parts, but it was nowhere near correct according to what we were taught in class. But, I cut up 5 chickens at home, and practice makes perfect... I ended up not only passing the exam, but passing with a 97%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We had to do julienne carrots, batonnet carrots, chopped parsley, fabricate a chicken and make 2 airline breasts, season and saute the breasts and make an herb veloute sauce using the pan drippings, make rice pilaf, and steamed carrots and asparagus. Then, it all had to be presented nicely on a plate like you'd serve in a restaurant. I was really wishing that I'd stuck my camera in the trunk of my car, because my plate looked a thousand times better than what I made for my practice run the night before (pictured on day 97) since I was going for presentation, and not just to get the timing down, and then eat it for dinner.

There's no better use for an empty finished basement than a home theater, so you can watch the Strangers With Candy movie on the big screen whenever you want! Jerri Blank larger than life!
Barramundi en papillote in a chili tamarind stock served with a coconut lime custard.
Barra (like catfish) can be muddy in flavor and a simple steaming only brings that out more, so I was curious how they'd deal with it. The tamarind and chilis do a good job of tempering it by itself, but the lime coconut custard was genius. Reminiscent of the flavors of thai Tom Kha it blended impeccably with the fish and chili tartness.

Elliot listens intently to his new best friend. He LOVED Amy. He woke her up at 6:00 this morning by barreling into the room and hopping up on the bed. Then he didn't want her to go. When she was collecting her bags to leave, he sat in the middle of my bedroom floor and looked at her in the same sad puppydog way that he looks at me when I lock the rabbits in their pen before leaving for work in the morning.

Sweet and sour shredded beets on shortbread. Nice balance of sweet, tart, savoury (proscuitto), salty (parmesan), and bitter (rocket.) Sweet/sour beetroot reduction on the plate.
