Morgens gegen 5 Uhr ist die Welt noch in Ordnung. Alles still und ruhig, der Strand und die Welt gehören uns... ;o)
Nur wenige Stunden später findet man kaum noch einen Flecken Sand, der nicht von Badelaken und Co. belegt wäre...

Only a few hours later you will hardly find a patch of sand that is not occupied by bath sheets and things like that...
217 E. Superior Street, Alma, Michigan 48801. As far as I can piece together, the Strand was originally built in 1920 as a 900 seat house. There was a fire on 11/7/60 which basically destroyed the building. It was rebuilt in 1961 as a 800 seat facility. The balcony was not replaced. It looks like it now shows movies and is used as a live theater by the Gratiot County Players.

De plas op de zandmotor is buiten zijn oevers getreden. Vermoedelijk door de regen van de afgelopen dagen.
De bewoners van de strandhuisjes moeten nu door de plas om het strand en bij de zee te komen.

Front Strand, Youghal in 1904 and today.
It wasn't possible for me to replicate exactly the perspective of the original. Either the photographer stood on part of Claycastle that is no longer there due to erosion, or the present promenade is to the right of the one back then.
