Straight down The River at the Salk Institute in La Jolla, California. At the vernal and autumnal equinoxes, the sunshine directly down the river at sunset.
The road to Vatnajökull. It takes up 15% of Iceland so you can't really miss it, especially on a clear day like this one.
I really thought the snow was going to last longer than it did. So I have quite a few to still post or i guess i can save them for next December....
Happy Fence Friday
A title with more than one meaning. The history of the Clinchfield makes it the most "modern" route in American Railroading. The C&O between Russell and Elkhorn City, KY already existed, and at the turn of the Century entities laid out plans to make a hyper efficient route to the Southeast. No such route existed.
The story of the Pikeville cut also continues with the theme of straight shootin'. I believe the Chessie along with the Commonwealth of Kentucky planned to bypass downtown Pikeville in the 70s. The subsequent route is pictured here with US 23 and the Levisa Fork also jammed in there. M693 is moments away from yarding at Shelby. A new crew will come on board later during the night. A soppy one at that...
The third in the series of impending rain reflections. the sun had left the scene not to reappear , yet I was still mesmerised by the beautiful greys and blues that somehow always light up the rainclouds. Straight to you is by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds , and it was only a minute or so from getting very wet. I need some new waterproof trousers :)))

Straight on, symmetrical, square-framed, a few feet above and looking down on the swimming goose.
This goose, along with its extended family, has overwintered here this year. They sure are hardy birds.
A warm thank you to all who view or comment on my images :) It's a joy to be a part of the Flickr community.
During a class on EEP Basics facilitated by @Rule Binder, I cammed outside and played around. After class went straight to Strays and Misfits and snapped off a quickie.

Life's a long, long road, if we are lucky. For so long I've just followed the road, it seems with one wheel stuck in a rut at the side steering me along without me being in control. And it has gone on and on. There's a crossroads further down in the picture, in the middle of nowhere. No signs. No landmarks. Just an empty crossroads where two roads meet on the barren moorland. I'm getting near there. Do I carry on straight or turn, left or right, and explore a bit to the side...perhaps it was a waste of time, the wrong choice....nothing to see down there, and return to the junction.
I'm almost at that point, decisions, decisions in deciding if I leave so much of what I've known, work, Cheshire and the hills around, friends, goats, North Wales and take a change in direction.
We've found a place. A long way north. Seven hours drive north to Acharacle, Argyllshire at the far end of Loch Shiel. Mountains, lochs, deer, little beaches with white sand, heather...........
I've seen recently how hard it is to leave everything you've known and strike out somewhere else when my son took his young family off to New Zealand. They'd said they never could have anticipated how difficult it would be to say "Goodbye". My turn soon.
