It was pouring down relentless sheets of rain and a small group of band-tails landed in the buckeye. As the rain got even harder several of these native birds began to raise and open their wings fully to take in the opportunity for a complete bath....it was a truly remarkable sight to see this behavior in a complete downpour up in the trees on the greyest of winter days
many thanks for stopping by to visit and share....risa
Letzte Woche wurde noch gebadet in der Ostsee - jetzt ist der Herbst auch hier angekommen - und man zieht sich warm an!

Stormy, blustery and heavy foggy weather foiled our attempt to reach Neko Harbor on the west coast of the Antarctica peninsula. Nevertheless, we did have a chance to see some marvelous icebergs and experience some nasty Antarctica weather. In this shot you can see snow/ice being blown off the iceberg.
Stürmisches Wetter! Es ist kalt, grau und nass
Die Orkanböen haben schon einige Terrassenkübel umgeworfen !
On a very blustery day in Antarctica, with stormy weather beginning to dominate and with fog on the horizon, the turquoise beauty of an iceberg would be the last such sight for a couple of days. The unpredictability and fierceness of weather in Antartica meant that we would be denied the opportunity to see Neko Harbor and the Lemaire Channel.
A new handicapped dock was installed at Lake Crabtree for boaters! A pretty addition on this reflective evening.
I hope to see these kind of skies soon as the Hurricane Matthew clouds are starting to drift in. I guess our golf weekend in Myrtle Beach will have to wait until another time.
Stormy weather... Enjoy your week my friends! www.youtube.com/watch?v=D47qJnrzn10
Gefühlte -10° an der Ostsee, eiskalter Sturm fegt über das Wasser, aufgenommen vor ca. einer Stunde - Brrrrr !
today at the Baltic Sea -
Durch den steifen Ostwind vom Wasser her war es doch noch sehr kalt heute an der sonnigen Ostsee.
This is Lorin Lake - found in the Cariboo region of British Columbia and where we often disappear to when we go away. It is quiet and peaceful. The fishing (rainbow trout) is fantastic. And there is a family of Loons and and Eagle. Even when the weather is less than perfect, it's perfect :)
When I see this, I think of the Vikings who sailed up the river here on their way to Paris in the 9th century. In the beginning of the 10th century the French king Charles the Simple gifted Rollo, leader of the “Normanni” (Vikings) a territory that would become the Duchy of Normandy, in exchange for ending his brigandage.
The Pont de Normandie spans the mouth of the River Seine at the port city of Le Havre (Normandy). The bridge has a total length of more than 2.1 kilometres and a main span of 856 metres. The pylons are 215 metres high and the bridge deck is a maximum of 59 metres above the River Seine, making it quite a steep bridge, with a slope of 6%.
Taken at Hyams Beach, Australia, during a period of rough weather, on the same day as the two preceding photos.
This photo was taken at ISO 100 unlike the previous photos.
Thank you for visiting. I appreciate the faves and kind comments very much.

Stürmisches Wetter an der Ostsee -
so sieht es aus, wenn ein verzweifelter junger Mann seine Bierflasche in den Fluten sucht
The summer storms here are magnificent, being caught out on one of the 'big' bridges when it rolls through - not so much.
Have an easy start to the new week ..
Have photographed the famous Hill when the poppies & the sun were out. Today it was the Daisies & no Sun. A 20 second exposure developed from RAW on Affinity & used Silver Efex Pro to make it into a mono - Black & White image.
Just a reupload for one of MY favourite work !!
