Neben den Desiros sind seit Herbst 2020 auch die neuen Mireos im Rheintal zuhause! Sie ersetzten damit die lokbespannten Doppelstockzüge auf den RB-Linien von Offenburg nach Freiburg, bzw. Basel und auf dem kurzen Ast von Müllheim nach Neuenburg. Was sich im Vergleich zu früher verschlechtert geworden ist, ist die teilweise geringere Fahrgastkapazität! Am 14. April war allerdings alles wie gewohnt in Doppeltraktion unterwegs, wie hier 463 023 und 022 als sie kurz hinter Denzlingen an der bekannten Brücke! Mit ihrer Front erinnern die Triebwagen einen auch ein bisschen an die Stormtrooper aus Star Wars!
Got the new stormtrooper figure and really wanted to weather him up a bit. I really like the battle damaged look a lot more than the clean look

Pitch dark and starry sky. Neither tripod or flash. So what do you do? Balance the camera on a rock while doing light painting with an iPhone!

An leftover from the another session. I thought to post this first as it has certain elements that works for me visually. I personally like how he is coming out from the darkness like that! Also, I really like this simplicity and black and white drama, which makes this a bit cinematic, in my opinion. You tell me!
Also, on May 25, 1977, in a galaxy far, far away, Star Wars premiered in theaters. Can't believe, it's 40 years!
First figure of 2016!
This is the second figure in my series in which I am making a villain from each episode. The others in the series are:
Episode II: Attack of the Clones - Jango Fett
I wanted to make a First Order Stormtrooper since I saw the film opening week, and only got around to it now. It was originally planned to be a simple trooper, but upon my good friend Sander's suggestion, I made TR-8R, a character who has been very popular online lately.
The full story behind this traitor-hating trooper has been revealed on starwars.com - he is/was a member of Finn's squad and is FN-2199, AKA 'Nines', who is mentioned in the novel 'Before the Awakening' by Greg Rucka.
Anyways, to the figure now, all of the details on the body were sculpted with ProCreate/made from scratch with styrene, with exception of the helmet, which is a standard TLG helmet which had details added and the white repainted to match the armour. The traitor-killer (ie. the Z6 Riot Baton) was made using styrene and a Brickarms Halo SMG.
Also, painting and photographing flat white figures is a pain in the ass.
