Here's what I started with. The fabric laying on top was covering the bottom. I was given this stool many years ago from a friend. It had belonged to her grandmother. I intended to cover it when I received it and only now got around to it. I had no idea there was a prize waiting for me at the end of all that staple and tack removal.

Today I had a luxurious couple of hours taking photos at Fells Point in Baltimore. I love Fells Point as a photographic subject - it has a little bit of everything - inner city grit, colorful buildings, coffee shops, boutiques, boats, panoramic views...
So 250 pictures later, it's hard to choose just one, but I adored these stools and they were a great 'find' - they are in the Broadway Market, which seems to be half in operation, with the other half somewhat abandoned. These appear to be part of a diner counter that has been abandoned .... They are so delightful.

Stool/shelf is made out of industrial felt and epoxy, lined with cherry veneer inside. It is surprisingly strong.
this is a foot stool I covered with photos and other images from the TV show "Prisoner" (cell block H).
This is a spinning stool prototype..
consisting of a pine seat, and honeysuckle legs, coated in marine spar varnish for waterproofing, sanded to ultra smoothness. i'm not sure if i like the art i did, or the "rustic" legs..but it's a pretty sturdy little thing. we'll move to all oak for the next ones.
