This beautiful Grade II-listed 17th century farmhouse is adjacent to Cranford Hall at Cranford St Andrew in Northamptonshire. It is currently used as a guest house.
Built during Aydon Castle's later history as a working farm, these practical agricultural buildings sit alongside the remains of the medieval fortified manor. The buildings provide an interesting contrast with the 13th- and 14th-century stonework surrounding them, showing how the site continued to evolve and serve a useful purpose long after its days as a fortified residence had passed.
Aydon Castle was converted to a farmhouse in the 17th century and remained an estate farm for centuries, with additional farm buildings constructed during the 18th and early 19th centuries. Historic England
The village of Bibury in the Cotswolds District is known for its honey-coloured seventeenth century stone cottages with steeply pitched roofs, which once housed weavers who supplied cloth for fulling at nearby Arlington Mill.
The Arlington Row cottages were built in 1380 as a monastic wool store. This was converted into a row of cottages for weavers in the seventeenth century.

The Romanesque Benedictine abbey church of Saint-Benoît-sur-Loire (in the département of Loiret, in the northern part of the Centre Region of central France) in the middle Loire Valley, on a mostly overcast afternoon in late May 2009.
This view is from the west, looking at the west porch while standing in the main place of the small town, which today is also called St-Benoît-sur-Loire ("Saint Benedict on [the] Loire").
This Romanesque church was primarily constructed 1067-1218, with later elements. It is associated with the monastery of Fleury (Abbaye de Fleury or Abbaye de Saint-Benoît de Fleury), which -- founded ca. 630 -- had existed prior to the Benedictine foundation, which followed the translation of relics of St. Benedict to the abbey in 660, by the 8th century. The abbey continued until the French Revolution (being broken up in 1791), then was refounded in 1944, again by Benedictine monks.
Today it is part of the composite UNESCO World Heritage site Vallée de la Loire -- The Loire Valley -- between Sully-sur-Loire and Chalonnes.
(Information primarily from the website of the Abbaye de Fleury, consulted 31 January 2015.)
Please note that the region's name when this picture was taken in 2009 was Centre, but in 2015, as a result of the merger of regions, the name was changed to Centre-Val de Loire.

She was very much in love with the Midieval times of long ago. The castle was built to resemble this time period.

I always find an old ruin overgrown in the woods or countryside quite evocative. A family once sat round a stove here and worked on the land. All long gone now.

The Eager Inn located at the fork of Pike Lake Road and Morgans Fork Road near Bainbridge, Ohio was a prominent stop on the Underground Railroad and was the first stone inn built in Ohio to support overland travel. Built along the Zane Trace trail around 1797 by Andrew Ellison and John Beasley, it served as an inn until 1870 and then was used as a general store and residence until 1950.

Maison Forte de Reignac.
The Maison forte de Reignac is a château in Dordogne, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France. It is built into the rock face.
Like many sites in the Vézère valley, the Reignac cliff site was occupied in prehistoric times. The first excavations in 1952 uncovered a significant deposit of knapped flint dating from the Magdalenian period1.
The first troglodyte dwellings built date from the 10th century.
The fortified house dates from the 14th century. More precisely, its facade dates from the 14th century, while the opening of the windows dates back to 1508.
Set high above Lake Sevan, Sevanavank is one of Armenia's best-known medieval monastic sites. The monastery was established in the 9th century on what was originally an island, before the lowering of Lake Sevan's water level transformed it into a peninsula.
The Cagsawa Ruins (also spelled as Kagsawa or Cagsaua) are the remnants of an 16th-century Franciscan church, the Cagsawa church. It was built in 1587 but was burned down by the marauding Dutch in 1636. However, it was reconstructed again in 1724 by Fr. Francisco Blanco. In February 1, 1814, Mayon Volcano caused its most violent and deadly eruption that engulfed the surrounding houses and killed nearly 2,000 people who took refuge inside the church. Only the belfry of the Cagsawa church remains as a grim and silent testimony of that fateful day. For almost two hundred years, it has withstood the test of time and the elements to become one of the most recognizable landmarks of Albay Province. The ruins are located in Barangay Busay, Cagsawa, in the municipality of Daraga, Albay, Philippines.

The Plymouth Congregational Church is a historic church located at 3429 Devon Road corner of Main Highway in the Coconut Grove neighborhood of Miami, Florida, United States. The land was donated by George Spalding and George E. Merrick. The architect was Clinton MacKenzie. The Edifice Religious was founded in the 1897, and completed in the 1917, the church was built by a single man, Felix Rebom, using only a hatchet, a trowel, a plumb line, and a T-square. Its architecture was modeled after the old Spanish missions of Mexico. On April 18, 2012, the AIA's Florida Chapter placed Plymouth Congregational Church on its list of Florida Architecture: 100 Years. 100 Places. On July 23, 1974, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
Circa 1941, the WPA-sponsored American Guide Series book about Miami and environs described the church: "PLYMOUTH CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH, at Ingraham Hwy. and Devon Rd. is a reproduction of a Mexican mission. The interior of the vine-covered stone building is constructed on the lines of a basilica and the doors are said to have come from a Spanish mission in Mexico. In one of the doors is a round cat-hole, now covered with screen. Many outdoor weddings have been performed at the pulpit in the walled garden."

This is the church of St Oswald in the North Lincolnshire village of Crowle. A nice February lunchtime with the clouds scudding along with the wind made for ideal photo opportunities.
I was going thru Brooksville, Florida on Route 50 (aka: S. Jefferson Ave), when I came to a Point, where I had to make a hard left turn. There I saw a Tractor on the front Lawn of a House (or possibly a Business). I found a nearby Gas Station where i parked my Car and took this Photograph of a Fordson Tractor (the Numerical address was 503).
The Saint-Sulpice de Fougères church is one of the parish churches of Fougères, located at the foot of the castle of Fougères, outside the city's ramparts. Catholic worship takes place every Saturday in this church, mass at 11:00 a.m. and confessions from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.2.
Built between the move of the castle and the old cours du Nançon, in the medieval tanners district, it constitutes the heart of the bourg-vieil (lower city), as opposed to the Saint-Léonard church, located in the bourg-neuf (upper town) which developed from the twelfth century. A major element of the Fougerais heritage, the Saint-Sulpice church was the subject of a classification measure as a historical monument on September 26, 1910.
The entire Saint-Sulpice glassware was built between 1885 and 1926 with the exception of five fragments of stained glass windows dating from 1558, attributed to the fouge master glassmaker Pierre Symon and relating to the crucifixion of Christ. However, without being classified, the bays of the church are of certain interest both from the point of view of art and the devotions to which they relate. Parisian workshops were essentially illustrated (Lavergne and fils, Henri-Charles and Emmanuel Tournel14, Leon Payan and J. Guyonnet (1902)), or the Lavallois Ludovic Alleaume16and Auguste Alleaume.
The church has stained glass windows from the early twentieth century, including the patriotic stained glass of Joan of Arc, a vast composition that integrates three hairy men into the crowd of the procession: this stained glass window was offered to the parish by fern families who had lost their sons during the First World War.
July 10, 2023 - Torre de Belém (Belém Tower) "The Belém Tower, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of Lisbon’s most striking monuments and the icon of a country historically moulded by its proximity to the ocean and its maritime discoveries of new worlds.
Discoveries by Portuguese navigators transformed Lisbon into the world’s main trade hub in the 15th and 16th centuries.
To protect the city, King João II conceived a pioneer project to defend Lisbon from enemy ships, a work completed in 1514 and which included the building of the Belém Tower, designed by architect Francisco de Arruda.
The tower’s unique design includes a modern and heavily armed bastion, protruding over the river.
King Manuel I clearly wished the Belém Tower to stand as a lasting symbol of his powerful reign by depicting the royal coat of arms, the armillary sphere and the cross of the Order of Christ." Previous description: www.visitlisboa.com/en/places/torre-de-belem
