Do the stingray shuffle.

Shuffle your feet against the sand bottom as you walk in the water to scare off the rays and spare yourself a sting. If you do get stung, meat tenderizer will be the answer for treatment. No kidding.

New York Times Best-selling author Tim Dorsey is coming to the Manatee County Island Branch Library.

Don't miss out on Saturday, March 29, 2014, as the Friends of the Island Library present best-selling author Tim Dorsey starting at 2:00 p.m. to talk about and sign copies of his latest book, “Tiger Shrimp Tango.”

Dorsey is the creator of an enormously-popular series of quirky Florida crime novels featuring the antiheroic serial killer Serge Storms. In “Tiger Shrimp Tango,” the Sunshine State's favorite killer (and walking encyclopedia of Florida lore), dances a tango of death and mayhem. It's more than funny--it's dementedly entertaining!

The event is free and seating will be available on a first come, first serve basis. There is no advance registration required.

Special programs such as this are made possible by funds generously provided by the Friends. The Friends are a support organization for Manatee County’s Island Branch Library. Monies raised by the Friends go toward programs and services that tax dollars alone cannot provide.

The Island Branch Library is located at 5701 Marina Drive in Holmes Beach, Florida. For more information, please call the library at 941-778-6341.
