In operation from 1877 to 1976 - 3,633 feet deep; 79 deaths. "Butte's most productive copper-silver mine."

When I first arrived at San Joaquin Marsh, these two Grebes were close to the shore. My heart skipped a beat because I thought they may be the Clark's Grebes with the babies. But no, it was the Western Grebe.

The two Grebes are almost identical except Clark's have more white around the eye and a brighter bill. These Western Grebe's were so close that I was able to get a full frame shot of the two of them together in the calm water of the early morning.

I took this shot in the Forest of Dean, near Mallards Pike, of a couple of trail riders riding the countryside pretty sensibly. The Trail Riders Fellowship assists horse event organisers by offering TRF members to act as stewards for equestian events, which promotes healthy respect between the two groups so that animals and vehicles can both enjoy and share the countryside with a little common sense and respect.

The Large-billed Tern is an unmistakable South American species, and the only member of the genus Phaetusa. The large, heavy bill and striking wing pattern with black primaries, white secondaries, and a gray back, make this bird visually distinctive. During the breeding season, this species can be found along broad, inland rivers and lakes, nesting on the sandy shores in mixed species colonies with Black Skimmers (Rynchops niger) and Yellow-billed Terns (Sternula superciliaris). During the nonbreeding season, some of the population congregates on the eastern coast of South America in coastal mangroves, beaches, and estuaries. Young birds are prized pets of Native Americans in certain parts of the Large-billed Tern’s range. Common throughout most of its range, the Large-billed Tern’s main threats are habitat disturbance and egg-collecting.

Please, no group invitations as this is not as sharp as I would have liked. I just really like the flight pose and the intensity.

one of my favorite things about smacknally -- and i have several -- is the fact that he's an environmentalist. he gives a shit about this rock we live on, and spends his working days trying to clean it up. (and then he spends his weekends reveling in the dirt he has yet to conquer.) he drives a hybrid, smoking american spirits and carefully saving the butts in an empty pack. his eyes sparkling with kindness, he sang every muthafuckin' word to the hiphop beats that carried us through the bowels of bayonne.

he's a walking contradiction, and i adore him.

A kind steward told me that I could not use my tripod inside the museum ... ok, no problem ... I waited until the closing time, I found a good place where to lay my camera and then remote control: Charles Darwin was waiting for me!

Around Year 3300 of the Second Age - The establishment of Dol Amroth

As a part of the Gondorian kingdom, Dol Amroth is located on a large peninsula by the Bay of Belfalas. This area was originally inhabited by surviving elves from Beleriand, but late in the Second Age, some of the Faithful Numenoreans of Elendil's kin settled near the elves. This is where they started building the foundation for the large coastal city. Due to the location of the city, it was occasionally under attack by the corsairs of Umbar. The peninsula of Belfalas was ruled by the Prince of Dol Amroth, a bloodline descendant from the House of Elros, and linked to the Stewards of Gondor and the Kings of Rohan. The city played a major role during the Third Age, where they served as one of the defenders of the White City during the War of the Ring.

Be sure to follow all the builders tagged and stay tuned for the next episode by h2brick on Flickr coming out soon!! We would also like to sincerely thank Blaine’s World @blaines_world_lego for sponsoring our collaboration!

Inspired by Dave, I thought I'd have a go at this difficult shot, only because it was there in front of me - nothing was planned! I waited until the sun was entering some cloud to minimise it's power, used a couple of Grads, but it still needs HDR to recover the detail

My Father and The Boy who Showed Promise. It is The Story of My Father and me, he was a steward dealing with the first class passengers on the ocean going liners...he passed away when I was only 14 the poem in three images is a dedication to him and a story of bereavement..set to poetry.

The song of the Black Phoebe is very sweet and distinctive. The bird always sounds so happy to me. I see them so often that I usually don't bother taking their shots.

But this little guy kept from 10 to 20 feet in front of me as I walked along the trail. He was just begging to have his photograph taken. So I obliged when he perched with a nice background.

A candid street photo of a street scene. A man stands by the leisure boat entrance and waits for his beloved with a large bunch of beautiful flowers and a bottle of sparkling wine in hands. A boat steward estimates by eye and rather critically the quality or the wine. He stares at the bottle. Summer vibes, wine and roses, love and romance. May the happiness be with all of them. Black and white version.

This observation tower is on the 664-m-high landlord's mountain with Land-desertly(Land-wildly) in the steward's country. Because of his(its) unconventional form, he is called(mentioned) lemon squeezer. From the landlord's mountain one has a marvellous panorama about the upper steward's country.
