In fact I wanted to show You today a different photograph. But than I found out, what day is today, the international world cat day. Because I like these beautiful animals very much and feel quite connected to them, born under the star sign lion I'm almost one of them, I had to change my mind spontaneously. With that I wish all of you, even the not so privileged once of you fighting for surviving every day, a happy world cat day.
Eigentlicht wollte ich heute ein ganz anderes Foto zeigen. Doch dann sah ich, welcher Tag heute ist, der internationale Weltkatzentag. Und da ich diese wunderschönen Tieren sehr mag und mich mit ihnen sehr verbunden fühle, schließlich bin ich Sternzeichen Löwe und damit selbst fast einer von ihnen, musste ich mich spontan umentscheiden. Also wünsche ich Euch allen, auch den weniger privilegierten unter Euch, die jeden Tag ums Überleben kämpfen, einen fröhlichen Weltkatzentag.

Good luck is made of broken glass...
Two charms, different stories...
Charm No. 1: Yes, it's the bead I broke when I recently re-re-made my Mom's (magrit k.) necklace (please see the photo in the first comment and my album). You may wonder why it's golden when it was crystal-clear before. Well, I had mentioned that I wanted to re-re-re-make the necklace in Wabi-sabi and/or Kintsugi style because of the broken bead (Thank you all for your suggestions on how to repair it or replace the bead, much, much appreciated!) and I stumbled upon a tutorial where someone repaired a broken glass vase with waterproof super glue and golden mica powder. It sounded easy enough (it wasn't) so I thought I'd give it a try. In the tutorial, they made it so that, after gluing the parts together, they quickly powdered the mica stuff onto the glue before it dried. But: the vase was big, and the bead is... tiny, so there was no way I could have possibly applied the mica powder to the glued part only (hard to see anyway), so I properly buried the bead in mica powder and let it sit for a while. Next, I carefully brushed most of the powder off for the photo but didn't want to do too much to the bead because the glue needed 24 hours of rest. After waiting that long, I can now say that the repaired bead looks solid, the gluing seems to be stable – and the bead is permanently gold-speckled. I just hope the Rumpelstiltskin won't knock on my door now ;)
I gently placed the bead on a silver pendant: charm No. 2. The pendant is a true good luck charm that is with me wherever I go because I keep it on my keyring. I got the pendant for my 7th Birthday on a holiday in Italy. It has my zodiac sign, Cancer, engraved on the front and my first name and date of birth engraved on the back, just in case I should ever forget it ;) You can see the pendant properly in the second photo in the first comment. As background, I used a light blue glitter foam sheet (dull side up) and a white feather to create a soft, airy, high-key-ish (one might call it "blue-key") look. No focus stacking this time, but a single photo taken wide-open at F2.8 with the Laowa Ultra Macro lens.

Auf den ersten Blick scheint eine Beziehung zwischen dem Feuerzeichen Schütze und dem Wasserzeichen Fische unmöglich von Dauer zu sein. Doch die beiden haben trotz aller Unterschiede auch einiges an Gemeinsamkeiten. Sie haben eine ähnliche Zielsetzung im Leben und auch ihre Prioritäten und Interessen sind relativ übereinstimmend. Die Anziehungskraft zwischen den Sternzeichen Schütze und Fisch ist sehr stark. Für den Fisch ist ein dominanter Schütze als Partner der Ausweg aus seiner starken Introvertiertheit. Dem Schützen wiederum tut die tiefe Verbindung, die er mit dem Fische-Partner haben kann, sehr gut. Penguin? Aka "How I learned about the star signs": Obviously my zodiac sign is not "Penguin", but when I was in class one of primary / elementary school, at one point star signs were the next big thing. It was spring, and one classmate, whose sign was Aries, and whose birthday was close, brought up the subject, and all of a sudden everyone wanted to know each others "star sign" - and I did not even know what a "star sign" was. Now you should know that in German we do not use the Latin terms, but have all of the terms translated (Aries is "Widder", which, literally, is "ram"), and many of my classmates had "animal" star signs, so, on that day, I was wondering, whether a "star sign" was a favourite animal I could choose for myself. Next thing I was wondering about was why most of my classmates had chosen such weird animals as their personal signs. Yes, OK, one girl was a Leo, and "Löwe" (lion) was a great animal to choose. But ram, bull, ibex / goat??? Why not cat, dog, budgie or penguin? That summer, when I turned 7, my parents gave me the silver pendant that you can see in my capture, with my birthday and -year engraved on the flipside. They also gave me a bracelet with my first name on it, in case I should forget it one day ;-).
Size: 7x5 cm (2,7x1,9 inches). The lobster I found in the spare "1 Euro each" parts box at the toy store, I used bird sand for the "beach", and as background I used a postcard with my real star sign on it - which is... crab ;-) .
And if you are interested, here's a list of the German names of the star signs: Aries = Widder (ram), Taurus = Stier (bull), Gemini = Zwillinge (twins), Cancer = Krebs (crab), Leo = Löwe (lion), Virgo = Jungfrau (literally "young woman"), Libra = Waage (scales), Scorpio = Skorpion, Sagittarius = Schütze (shooter), Capricorn = Steinbock (ibex / goat), Aquarius = Wassermann (merman, literally "water man"), Pisces = Fische (fish).

ST. JAKOB - KATHOLISCHE STADTPFARRKIRCHE
kath. Kirche St. Jakob
Die Pfarrkirche St. Jakob überragt mit ihrem 44 Meter hohen, achteckigen Turm weithin sichtbar die Dachauer Altstadt.
In den Jahren 1624/25 entstand der heutige Bau im Stil der Spätrenaissance. An dieser Stelle befand sich zuvor eine kleine spätgotische Kirche, aus der die Sakristei und das quadratische Untergeschoß noch erhalten sind.Der barocke Turmaufbau wurde in den Jahren 1676 bis 1678 errichtet.
Unter der Leitung des Münchner Hofbaumeisters Friedrich Sustris erfolgte der Chorbau, das Langhaus wurde nach dem Entwurf von Hans Krumpper erbaut. 1926 wurde die Kirche um ein Joch erweitert.
Die Südseite des Langhauses ziert eine stattliche Sonnenuhr aus dem 18. Jahrhundert, an der nicht nur die Zeit, sondern auch Monat und Sternzeichen abzulesen sind.

St. Jakob Parish Church
The parish church of St. Jakob dominates the Old Town of Dachau with its 44-meter octagonal tower and can be seen from afar. The church was built in 1624/25 in the late Renaissance style. It was built on the site of a smaller late gothic church, of which only the sacristy and the square basement of the church tower remain. The baroque tower was erected 1676-78.
The choir was built under the direction of the master builder of the Munich court, Friedrich Sustris, with the nave done according to the plans of Hans Krumpper. An extension was added on in 1926.
Decorating the south side of the building, an impressive 18th century sun-dial not only shows the time of day, but also the month and zodiac as well.

Das chinesische Horoskop, das auch in allen von China beeinflussten Ländern bekannt ist, orientiert sich an den Tierkreiszeichen und am Sechzigerzyklus. Man fragt nicht nach dem Geburtsmonat, sondern nach dem Geburtsjahr und ordnet allen, welche im gleichen Jahr geboren das gleiche Tier zu. Um allfällige Rechnerei zu ersparen hier die vergangenen Jahre des Ochsen 1913, 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009
Die Tierkreiszeichen: Ratte, Ochse, Tiger, Hase, Drache, Schlange, Pferd, Ziege, Affe, Hahn, Hund, Schwein werden auch verwendet um Jahre und Monate in Serien von jeweils zwölf Einheiten zu ordnen. Hinzu kommen die 5 Elemente: Wasser, Feuer, Metall, Erde und Holz - kombiniert entsteht der 60iger Zyklus.

a nice place near the little creek - at the border of our land.
an old clock hang above in the three and a sign of my zodiac lie ahead of the bed. here i relaxed by the ripple of the creek.
the sunlight came about a mirrow to the installation and brought a nice light.
Ein schöner Platz am Rande unseres Grundstücks ist das Ufer des Baches. Im Baum hing eine alte Küchenuhr und vor dem Bett lag das Geweih eines Widders - mein Sternzeichen. Ein lauschiges Plätzchen um dem Plätschern des Baches zu lauschen.
Das Licht musste ich über Spiegel hierher umleiten - das brachte erstaunlicherweise ein recht gutes Licht zum Fotografieren.

In der Früh Handtuch aussuchen für diesen Tag. Wahl viel auf dieses, weils an das Zitat: "Viele kamen allmählich zu der Überzeugung,
einen großen Fehler gemacht zu haben,

Astronomie nicht Astrologie. Am Abend das Handtuch als Eintrittskarte ins Planetarium: "Die Geheimnisse des Südhimmels" Paranal Observatorium Atacama Chile, Europäische Südsternwarte (ESO), Very Large Telescope (VLT): Sternennebel, schwarze Materie, rote Riesen, schwarze Zwerge, ein Urknall,....
